Avenue bread is a local deli that offers soup and sandwiches. The food is pretty good, but I hate to say the prices are way overpriced. This place does not offer a good value for what you get. The place is always packed, so I am sure there are a lot of people who love coming here, but having eaten so many places throughout Bellingham, and beyond, I just can’t give this place my recommendation. The atmosphere is nice, and the service is mediocre. $20 for a small sandwich and some potato chips is just ridiculous. In my opinion.

We were traveling through on the way to Whistler. We enjoyed the morning special of Biscuits and gravy, Ruben sandwich and kids ham sandwich on sourdough. Delicious coffee. We even bought a loaf of sourdough to go. We’re planning to hit it on our return trip.

Great breakfast place in Bellingham. Walk up to the counter, order what you want, find a table, and they deliver your food. They make their own bread. Yummy! You bus your own table! Love it!!

The tuna melt was overly soggy and wet. Probably from too much grease/oil and the cheese, because the tube itself was actually pretty dry. I can't tolerate cheese and selected "no cheese" in my online order. It was there printed plain as day on my receipt attached to the bag when I picked it up. Unfortunately I could not eat it. I also don't like how places bully customers to tip 18-20% in advance on takeout orders. Tips are meant to reward a job well done-- a service successfully executed- after the job has been done. Not given automatically in advance of service. Somewhere along the way we have lost sight of this and there is this new sense of entitlement- it's no longer a "tip" but rather a built in tax. Which is fine, if you're going to do the job right. But if I have to pay nearly $20 for sandwich that I can't eat, then that wasn't a job well done.

I was charged for a salad not ordered and was supposed to be issued a refund however that didn't happen. Don't like paying for something I didn't order!

Solid tasty food! They have someone for everyone depending on what you feel like or how hungry you are.The hot apple cider was great, not too sweet, perfect for autumn ?!

Ordered the Popeye breakfast sandwich, and while filling and hearty, it seemed lifeless- as if there wasn’t much taste.Maybe a lunch sandwich will improve the rating. More to follow..

Crossed the border from Vancouver and asked a local for a good lunch spot they referred us to Avenue Bread. Great recommendation. Delicious soup and sandwiches with fresh ingredients.

Great Reuben sandwich. Maybe a little extra sauerkraut on the side next time. Love those probiotics. Cures what ails you; coughs, colds, sore holes, fits, farts and freckles!

I always get the Sunnyland omelette here and my wife gets the eggs Benedict with a rosemary English muffin. Both are excellent, as I’m sure the rest of their menu is as well. We go there every time we’re in Bellingham visiting our daughter. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast.
