We went earlier this year while we were next door at Menace. My wife and mother in law are Mexican and were hoping this new place would be decent. From their menu I ordered the chilaquiles. Firstly, the front desk girl couldn't find it in her system at all. I had to show her the menu to prove it was there. They had to call someone in from the kitchen to figure out what to do. They had to ring it up as something else. I don't remember what my wife and MIL got, but I know that whatever I got wasn't remotely resembling chilaquiles. They barely even qualified as nachos. It was plain flour tortilla chips with green sauce and sour cream poured on top, and hunks of scrambled eggs. I don't know what that would be, but it's not chilaquiles. My wife and MIL were likewise astonished at what they got, in a bad way.The menu nearly has as much American food such as hamburgers, hotdogs, and french fries as it does anything Mexican or Latin at all. It doesn't inspire confidence, and the food settles the deal.As the restaurant is really a Salvadorean restaurant, not a Mexican restaurant, perhaps they do Salvadorean food well. In which case they should stop pretending to be something other than that.

For the price not worth it. Food was bland no seasoning I got the carne asada, could have made better at home. But the icing on the cake was the waitress, pretty sure she was on something and it was not that green. She never checked on our table once. Spent most of the time sitting in the bar on her phone I’m sorry but when the restaurant is empty and we are your only customers I expect better service. Don’t waste your time coming here go to one of the of the local Taco Trucks instead. Better service and better food. Will never be back to this restaurant.

UPDATE: This business is refusing to refund my money. They are playing d*** with my credit card company. I guess they think they will get away with this. They won't. They accepted my online order, but were CLOSED when I arrived 20 minutes later. OK, it was a snowy day, but they shouldn't accept orders when closed. Now I need to dispute the credit card charge!

Pretty expensive for how much food was served, food was okay tasted genuine enough, server was friendly, is not as clean as I would like. Definitely feels like more effort was put into the Bar/Nightlife aspect of the location which unfortunately was not there to experience.

I was at the bar across the street trying to order food via phone. Called 3 times, no answer. Sent my fiance over, place is dead empty. Rang bell, no one came. After 15min he decides to leave and the Tiffany (a server)comes out as he's leaving so he decides to order. She did not give him change. He waits, gets the burrito, asks for change, she makes him wait so he brought the burrito to me at Mence and come back for his change. No tip. I open my burrito, it's cold and smooshed to one side. It also isn't the burrito I ordered. I go across the street, talk to Tiffany and she asks, " omg what did he do to your burrito?"I asked for my money back and waited the length of this post to receive it.

I'm not certain yet if I'll be sick from what I ate. I went there because of the many positive reviews. We went there, ordered an appetizer and meal at the same time. Finally received the meal that was very clearly microwaved, then received the appetizer after the meal. The appetizer we received post-meal tasted like it was deep fried after scraping ice crystals off of it. This was supposed to be a nice date night, and I left angry. Thinking to myself... why is Taco Bell 5 times better than the abortion I just had. Look, I'm realistic, I get that every business has an off day. This wasn't that. I'd be terrified to inspect the walk-in.

It was so fun to go to a place and have a real taco Tuesday where everything is inexpensive and the place is fun. The staff was so friendly even though they knew I would only be spending a small amount-and the salsa is amazing! I have eaten dinner here before and the food was just amazing and so authentic. You definitely need to try this place out! I also wanna encourage you to look at my photos about taco Tuesday and the things they have going on on the weekend

The waitress was terrible. We were one of two tables in the place and it took forever to order and get the check. They got my order wrong. When I did get my cheese enchilada, the sauce tasted like it was from a can and the cheese was not melted. It was a tough corn tortilla with uncooked shredded cheese inside. I do not recommend.

The moment I opened the menu, I got really psyched. Beyond all the classics, El Ray has a large variety of dishes that are rare in the US, from Honduras to Nicaragua. I tried the plato guanaco, which has an array of El Salvador foods, and was amazed. Their pupusas are super indulgent, fresh and cheesy. I'd never had yuca root or pastelitos before, and was just psyched to try them. Looking forward to coming back and trying dishes from all over.

We went to El Rey shortly after they opened and it was fine but not great. Last week we returned and were very pleased with the food and service. They have a $1 taco and $1 margarita on Tuesdays. I questioned (to myself) if it would be decent but it definitely was. Really enjoyed everything including the nacho's that we ordered that were much less than at other restaurants. It included the meat, guacamole and sour cream that other restaurants charge extra for. I forget the exact cost but think that it was around $10 and worth every penny. The restaurant is owned by two people - one of whom has their adult children working there. They are both so great - very sweet - good servers and wonderful people. We returned today and they remembered both of us. I highly recommend this restaurant. Give it a try - you may decide that you love it!
