The quality of the food available on the belt has gone down considerably. I was there on a Saturday night during prime dinner hours (6:30-7pm) and there were sushi rolls in rotation that made a few too many laps. They smelled and tasted BAD. Like rotten ingredients, extremely fishy and a weird color. I actually had to flag down a server (the one assigned to my table was too busy flirting with someone to check on us) and tell them the food was bad and to please not charge us for the rejected plates. The choices were also disappointing, not very many deep fried rolls or anything fancy. The one with the Smokey flavor tastes like it has chunks of charcoal sprinkled on top. I also noticed the plastic lids covering the food looked dirty. I used to love this place but I'm not sure if I want to go back after being disappointed the last few times.

I've eaten here twice. The restaurant/belt area was a two star experience and the bar/menu experience a four. The belt had almost nothing on it. What's the point of a conveyor belt if you can't grab a few different things quickly? The few items that were on the belt had clearly been there quite a while. Servers were unseen and unavailable, but the restaurant LOOKED nice and at least I was in good company. The bar area was an entirely different experience. Service was prompt, attentive and very friendly. The several nigiri items I ordered were quite good albeit a bit more expensive than other sushi places in the area. If you go here sit in the bar and order off the menu.

My grandchild was excited to try a sushi place with a conveyor belt. I was concerned when my friend recommended this place because of all the bad reviews, BUT we enjoyed the experience and the food. We went on a weeknight, so it was almost empty. Seated right away, and the waiter was friendly and helpful. Agree that there is no labelling of the items on the belt, but the waiter was more than happy to explain what the items were. We got several things off the belt in addition to a couple items off the menu. I don't know if this sushi is the best in town, but I do know we all enjoyed our food and the experience. It came to about $20 a person, and we were all satisfied, including the gluten free adult and the picky teen.

I prefer a bit more exotic sushi's, Zen mostly has salmon or shrimp rolls. Lots of cool nigiri but it's hard to get my friends to eat that. The seared Ahi was in the hot section of the menu but was obviously very cold (straight from the fridge). Also the sear was around 1/16 inch and everytime I've had it, the Ahi was freshly seared and still warm, crusted with black and white sesame, and the accompanying sauce was unlike any ive had and didn't do the Ahi justice.

Large eating area - we arrived at 6:20pm on a Friday and were told it would be a 30 min wait time, which was pretty accurate. First conveyor belt sushi restaurant I've been to where nothing is labeled. Just have to wing it and see what you get. It's also not grouped together - guess this makes it easier on the staff to not have to wait for a particular sign to come around in order to restock the sushi, but it is difficult to know what you're getting. Also, just about every roll had the fake crab meat/California roll base inside - not super tasty or inventive. That said, the food wasn't bad, just not fabulous. If you live in B-ham I can see this being a quick lunch stop or a standard Thursday night dinner.

Sushi is meh. We had to ask multiple times for items on the menu because we waited 10 minutes for the conveyor to come around and were told there was already some on the conveyor. It's so large it takes forever to browse the sushi and if there is any on there who says it's not going to be gone when it gets to us.We were a group of 5, they sat us at a table for 4 and gave us a chair for the 5th person. Seemed awkward. They also sat our group at the very end of the conveyor so we got the picked through sushi. They weren't very busy but it took 20 minutes to get us seated after a 10 minute estimated wait time.Had to flag down the waitress multiple times for drink refills.

Zen is good, not WOW! Standard sushi that meets the need when the sushi "must have" is in the brain. We'll return at some point I am sure.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access into the restaurant + plenty of handicapped parking out front.

Decent sushi and a fun atmosphere with the sushi going around on the conveyor belt.

Really love the concept here. Like the color coded billing. Good variety to choose from and new dishes added as new customers arrived. Some dishes didn't have covers, though, and they all pass very close to peoples faces. Didn't like that at all. That being said, you can order all items directly from the menu.
