“Food is consistently delicious and the service is always great.I do recommend looking closely at your bill however. They have added a mandatory gratuity to the kitchen. Many places do this, my gripe is when tip percentage calculations are provided. They percentages not only include tip on the tax, they include tip on the kitchen tip. Tipping on tips and tax is a bit too much“
“This was our second visit to VJ. We adore the warmth, tough love, and service of the owners, and the lovely, attentive staff. The ambience is chill and relaxed if you go in for an early lunch. Food is always wholesome, fresh, and comes in huge portions. Proving the adage that the best things in life are free, they bring in hot chips, salsa, and a cabbage pico de gallo which we just cannot get enough of!I remember their dishes were more spicy and flavorful the last time we visited. This time they were slightly less seasoned, but that could be entirely because we didn't ask specifically for heat, or order spicy items. Online menu shows old prices. In-house prices are definitely higher. Expect to pay 25+ drinks extra per person for dinner.Very pleasant experience overall. We will definitely be back for more.“
“My friends and I came here for brunch and the experience was fantastic! The service was so accommodating and prompt and friendly. No ask seemed to big. We were indecisive and no one rushed us. There were many servers bringing our hot food out to us and we didn't have to wait for drinks or waters to be refilled. There were menu items I didn't get to try so I am excited to go back. There is a 20% service charge for bigger parties, which guarantees the servers get tipped, and I definitely left extra for my servers“
“Came in and sat at the bar. Great food of course but I was really impressed with the bartenders. I didn't know what I wanted on the wall of whiskeys, so they chose for me. Gave options and knew their stuff. Great experience overall, I look forward to returning.“

“We enjoy Poquitos! We popped in last night to celebrate our 31 yrs together. Yes, yes....at this point, everyday is an Anniversary....;)The chips are delightful (we need to eat less cuz it fills us up every time!), the drinks were delicious, Strawberry Marg and Paloma (sp?), meals were tasty and service was great. Felt bad that our server had to walk so many steps because we were busy talking instead of reviewing the menu to order! We all enjoyed a good laugh about that and hope to be back soon!! “Disappointing that to get additional drinks after being served our meal always seems to be a challenge. 1 drink prior to meal, 1 maybe when meal is served, but anything further you have to flag down wait staff - often not your assigned wait staff to get their attention. It's almost like there is an unspoken 2 drink maximum. This has happened on more than 1 occasion and not with same wait staff. I find this rather odd. Outside of that, we love the place and the food.“
