Tried the patacones - shredded beef, ham, 2 cheeses, plus more piled between fried green plantains. Got the bacon dipping sauce. Great stuff! It is messy but you get a fork that can help you with it. Also tried the coxinhas - not bad but not nearly as good as the patacones. Friendly guy behind the counter who was willing to explain menu and make recommendations. I'll be going back there again!
Holy guacamole- what a hidden gem this place is. Don't let the 'Caribbean' in the name scare you off -- there's no fiery scotch bonnet peppers to worry about, or Jamaican jerk chicken to burn a hole in your intestines. Instead, delectable arepas (there are about 10 different varieties to choose from) are destined to please your palate.
