By far my favorite boiling fish fish. The best broth I've had. It is oily, but no where near as oily as others. I will say, it could use more spice, but they do allow u to add more. Personally like a bit more tingle but some days they make it so and some days I want more. The service can be slow but they are always nice and try their best to handle your requests. The inside is very clean and inviting. Very good for large parties or even solo dining experiences. I will admit that covid has kind of turned this place upside down a bit. But slowly they are getting things reorganized back to normal as the allowed capacity increases. I'll be back, probably for as long as they stay open. I should probably give then a 4 or 3 for overal szcechuan experience, but it's usually a bit too spicy for the average person. You really have to have a high spice tolerance for the traditional stuff. I think I can handle a bit of spice, so I know the difference.

Don't be fooled by the picture on the menu. The famous sauerkraut fish dish is NOT a pizza; it's soup in a white bowl that blends into the background. Ha! When we finally figured that out, we were a little shell-shocked by the price. A bowl of soup for $36 for 1-2 people?! Plus $4 each for add-ons like tofu or noodles? But we had to try it right? We got the smallest size, and WOW, that thing can feed 4 people! We asked for a spice level of 1 (since I usually go with zero when ordering my own dish), and there was some kick to it! My nose was runny, and even inhaling in the spice made me cough. My husband, who has a high tolerance for heat, was also downing water and wiping his runny nose. He said if he were eating it alone, he'd just go up to 2, MAYBE 3. It was spicy but wow was it good. Great tangy flavor but a little on the oily side. We ordered it with noodles and I think if we tried it again, I'd get it with tofu too. We didn't order any side dishes but they sounded good! My advice: go with friends to split the cost and order more dishes! And then grab a boba nearby to cool off your mouth.

Lived up to the hype. This is a restaurant that does one thing *very well* but we enjoyed two apps too - the wings and the century eggs which, served cold, were a very nice contrast to the soup.

Wonderful to find a place specializing in sauerkraut fish! The dishes are huge, best for sharing and definitely gram worthy. The menu is focused around the fish although they have extended with a few more appetizers and two mains the last time I was there. The fish is perfectly sour and spicy. You can add things to the soup including enoki mushrooms, spam, noodles. Definitely get enoki - fantastic in the soup. There are a a lot of peppercorns so if you want to try and avoid excessive numbing you can pick them out (what I generally do). Perfect for a wintry wet gloomy day in Seattle!! PS this location generally has no wait!

As Chinese hot spicy food getting more popular in Seattle, there are more different styles coming to the downtown and east side (e.g. Bellevue and Redmond). Different from Szechuan (numbing/mala hot spicy) and Hunan (dry and hot spicy), sour and hot spicy come from southwest provinces (like Yunnan and Guizhou) of China and seems closer to the weather in Seattle. Desserts (Dim Sum) are one of the best features in Chinese restaurants. Mung Bean Cakes here taste very fresh - but the presentation looks very poor in a big plain plate. Considering the store decoration is unique and with detailed Chinese culture slogans, appetizers should have been better served. Like to see more choices introduced to the U.S., with assorted styles and favors.

Tasty fish dish with pickled veggies and fragrant spices. Adding tofu was a great choice to round out the dish, otherwise the fish would be lonely. I was surprised they only had one main dish to offer- 2 or 3 options (maybe a non-soup variety?) would be nice. Also was surprised that rice was not included as it seems like this dish only makes sense to eat with rice. Solid meal but very specific target audience.

They only serve fish as a mean dish which is super fresh and good maybe if they can add some options into their menu, it will give customers more choices

The food here is very limited..... and the flavor is very particular. For me it's waaaaaay too oily. I understand it's fish and the pickle vegetables but it's like I drink the soup and it's a thick chili oil I am consuming. I felt extremely sick after cause of too much oil. And it's not cheap. A small soup ( doesn't come with rice or noodles) so I order 2 rice 2 drinks with tofu and mushroom add ons. Total came out ~$80. For two people. Service was extremely minimal. I didn't feel good... drinks is a collab with mi tea.

Visiting this place for the first time. A friend visited recently and was raving about it. We had to make sure we try it. They have very unique dishes, not a lot of options, but the few are unique. The main dish is the famous signature Sauerkraut fish. It was very tasty dish. We added lotus root, mushrooms, and tofu. It was very oily. After we eat and if we drink the cold water, we could taste the oil in our mouth. The dish also leaves you with a taste that last a while. For some people this is great but for others this was not for them. The chrysanthemums leave salad had a very unique taste. It didn't make you crazy about it but there something keep brought me back to it again and again. It was very interesting.

When your fish stinks, you shouldn't sell it at all. Get the right fish before you open. When your fish is the main dish, your fish shouldn't stink. The TV display the high quality fish where they got. Did I get that high quality fish or somewhere else? I doubt my fish is fresh at all. 2 people spent $70 for a lunch. That is a rip off. My friend lie to me about how good this place is. I'm calling my friend about this bad experience. I'm not coming back at all.

Wonderful addition to the Great Wall Mall! Nice clean modern decor, and they even had wireless chargers next to the tables. The specialize in only one type of dish, but they do it very, very well. It is a soup broth consisting of fish, pickled vegetables, chili, ginger and other aromatics. You can order add-ins like tofu and noodles and etc. The star is definitely the fish, which was tender, flavorful and delicate and soaked up the wonderful broth. The broth wasn't too spicy but had a nice heat level to it that builds slowly and well balanced with the sour. We also had a side of beef brisket, that was delicious. The spice powder on it was amazing and packed some serious heat. I can see myself coming back here again and again. Especially on the rainy days where soup is just comforting and will hit the spot.

Great experience! The quality and flavor of the food is really good. They also have teas on the menu from Mi Tea in Bellevue Square on the menu. The only downside is that it is very pricey, but other than that, great food!
