After a long while, we ate at Izumi. Lots of changes from the Izumi we used to know. Orders are placed on a paper menu, clutter round the sushi bar. People are still super friendly and welcoming. The most noticeable change- pricing!! Two VEGETABLE tempura dinners ($26.50 each! )and two vegetable rolls totaled $66 before TAX. WOW! ? The quality of the tempura also was noticeably different- very oily.

Loved coming here for my birthday earlier this year, best teriyaki cod I've ever tasted! Buttery, melts in the mouth. Highly recommend!

Been customer since 1980s. Always had perfect food and service. Today I went for lunch about 1:10p. Didn't know they closed at 1:30p. Got sat at small table near door with another small table next to me. Service was pushy, fast and food was practically dropped down. Man came and sat down at nearby table and was also rushed. Female manager came over and without asking me if I was finished using it, took my jar of soy sauce and dropped it at man's table. She got back to her stand and had a bit of a smirky smile looking at me. Waitress came over like I was done and barely asked me if I was done eating. NO I wasn't. Bill appeared, I was so irritated by the attitude. I left a smaller tip than I would have normally. This current regime of management would Never have been allowed to act in this manner in previous years. Food was also of a lesser quality and Izumis was always a place I depended on and recommended. Gravely disappointed.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The sashimi was very fresh and the scallop melted in my mouth. A little pricey though.

It’s like teleporting to Japan - so delicious and authentic, but with Washington prices. Japanese run so native speakers will enjoy it.Sake selection is underwhelming but better than nothing

Food is good. Got the sashimi + tempura combo. Sashimi is fresh and tempura is crispy.

A bit overpriced in my opinion. The food and presentation were okay, but the portions were small for what you are paying.

Just the sushi had bad favor and taste and consistency. Tea was ok. Miso soup was ok. Rice was ok.

The food is amazing! But the service is really lacking! I came in to order food to go, they started sitting people behind me before even taking my order, and while I was waiting I noticed them ignoring new people coming in. I understand it’s a busy time, but what happened to being mindful of your customers?

This has been my go to sushi place for years. Service is great and the sushi is fresh. It's a pretty laid back and relaxed atmosphere. I recently started branching out to try other foods here (usually get the sushi combo platter) Latest I tried were these cold udon noodles you dip in sauce. Probably the bounciest noodles I've ever eaten. 10/10

Super busy during lunchtime but service was prompt, and we were seated soon after entering. Clean place, I appreciate the traditional decor. Felt current but also mom and pop. Food was delicious, perfect portions. I loved the house made teriyaki sauce and gyoza. Better than anything you’ll find in other parts of the city. Absolutely worth checking out. I got the lunch special.
