Honestly the most amazing ramen I’ve ever had. I will never go to another ramen place as long as Mom’s kitchen is open. This is delicious comfort food at its best. It makes any bad day a little brighter. They are so friendly and the quality is always consistently top tier. The kimchi slaps too.

We were looking for restaurants that were still open around 8:40pm in Kirkland. If you live in the area, you know it's very difficult to find decent restaurants that are open after 9pm other than bars or fast food. We didn't know where to go, so we were driving around and found this place tonight. Food - 3/5. If you are looking for a good ramen in the east side, go to Kizuki or Santouka. This won't be a place for you. Their ramen is like someone's mom made it for you at home. And that's ok if you are just hungry and want to eat comfort food. I ordered chicken Katsu (cutlet) donburi (chicken cutlet $ eggs on top of rice). It's nothing special, but was good and satisfied my hunger tonight. Their karaage isn't so much like real Japanese deep fried chicken, but they were tasty. My boyfriend's garlic tonkotsu ramen was our least favorite, but it wasn't bad. Service - 4/5. When we sat down, it was already 8:50pm and they were closing in 10 minutes. But this nice Korean lady welcomed us in and let us dine. She even offered us hot tea since it was cold outside. She closed the store when we left around 9:15pm. Ambiance -3/5. It's a cozy clean restaurant. Not like a romantic date spot, but no complaints. Would I come back? Certainly. It won't be my favorite spot to go, but I'd come back here again and try other food. They have both Korean and Japanese food there.

I ordered the garlic tonkotsu take out. They need to learn about ramen for sure. Lack of flavors, small veggie side, raw garlic, no tonkotsu flavor at all. The egg was over cooked and not even seasoned! I'm pretty disappointed. I would rather go to Sinverlake ramen in Kirkland for ramen, not here.

The food isn't too bad, the spicy ramen I got didn't taste bad at all but it just tasted like kimchi. But the garlic tonkotsu ramen was good. The service is great though.

Not perfect, but tasty and cozy atmosphere. Ordered the Miso Tonkotsu Ramen. It came in a few minutes but there was only one other order being prepared at the time. Eggs are normal hard boiled and came cold (unfortunate), corn wasn't particularly flavorful. That being said, broth was excellent and noodles have good texture (slightly on the firm side) and flavor. The pork came in two thin slices, the meat-fat distribution was even and not too fatty, and there was a slight crispy grilled texture. The prices are relatively cheap for ramen (mostly below $20 at the time of writing) and portion size is decent, so while it isn't perfect, you're getting what you pay for. This makes things still a 4/5 instead of a lower rating. Chopsticks and spoons when you dine in are comfortable to use and feel nice in the hand. They are not the bamboo disposable kind. Building is somewhat small, but you can order takeout too. Service is good and you pay at a tablet in the front. It has decent decor, comfortable seating (single tables, double tables, and booths, all hardwood, booths are around but not above head height) and during dark hours it is somewhat dimly lit, but in a good way. It's quite cozy. I would go again if passing by and wanting to dine alone, eating casually with a friend, looking for takeout, or looking for affordable ramen. I would not go here for a special occasion or with a group larger than 4.

Local mom & pop ramen place! Very delicious and fresh tonkatsu! K-chicken is a must try as well. Owners were very friendly and service was great! Everything was reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!

The food was very good and the service was fast! It's a smaller place with several tables. We arrived right after opening so I'm not sure how busy they typically get. I noticed their food rating was "excellent".Parking: The parking on the street can be limited. However, I did see a parking garage close by. I am guessing it's free to park in the garage but am not 100% sure.

Only marginally better than instant noodles. The soft boiled egg was very much a hardboiled egg. Completely cooked and not at all jammy. The broth was very salty and the chashu was chewy and very lean.

Shibu ramen used to be the best ramen in the area and I would go there often for a delicious treat. But it seems like they’ve been bought or changed their business. The ramen is now taste less and unimpressive, comparable to cup of noodle. Eggs were over cooked, and cold so I could tell they had been refrigerated and just cut in half. The broth was just like slightly flavored water. Meat didn’t really taste like meat. Overall, it was a huge disappointment to discovered my favorite ramen is no longer around and I have to find somewhere else because I won’t be going back to shibu.
