I bought these cookies for years every now and then. They used to be hand made and now a machine makes the cookies. Bought them today at the metropolitan market and they were not like they were before. They used to taste buttery and now they’re just dry and taste like any regular store bought cookie. So dissatisfied and disappointed that the company has become cheap. Oh and they’re super stingy on the frosting now.

I purchased the yummy shortbread cookies in individual packages to give to friends & neighbors for the holidays. Somehow the wrapping came open on two of them, forcing hubby and I to eat them ourselves. These cookies are soooo good! The shortbread has the perfect blend of butter, sugar and crunch. They were perfectly cooked to get that delicious taste of browned sugar, while having the right balance of crispiness while still being tender. The frosting was colorful and tasty, making them an ideal sweet treat. We also ordered a box of the walnut chocolate chip cookie dough. OMG the balls of chocolate are the size of golf ball! We have been baking them one at a time to share because they are so filling and rich with gooey melted chocolate chunks! We bake 1 cookie, cut it in half and top them wit a small scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert. These cookies are every bit as good as "The Cookie" you get at Metropolitan Markets - but the advantage is they can always be in hand in your freezer and you get them right out of the oven! I've heard this is an African American-owned business, so do yourself a favor and support a local black-owned during Black History Month!! Everybody wins!!
