Really great, yummy gluten-free food. Family friendly. My husband & I both had the fish & chips & it was so delicious! Best I've had, especially since being gluten-free. My 3 year old & I both had smoothies & they were also yummy. We came during the tulip festival nearby, so the lunch rush was pretty hectic. I'd imagine the rest of the year is much more laid back, but I'll have to find out for sure. Grabbed a loaf of their gf herbed sourdough to try at home as well. Will def be back!

Food was delicious, especially vegetarian options and fresh baked goods looked delicious. A bit slow on service but if you're able to slow it down, it's worth the wait. Eclectic and artsy decor.

I really hate posting this review, especially since they have so many vegan options, but the baked goods I had from here were the worst I have ever eaten. The cupcakes were extremely gummy and bland, the frosting on top was hard as a rock, the cookies were also rock hard as was the cookie sandwich. As far as the other food, the lentil soup we got was extremely spicy and not listed as such, and the biscuits and gravy was pretty meh. I hope this place steps it's game up because I love the menu, but the taste is worse than the food I ate in the military chow halls.

The food was okay. Some good allergy-free options, but nothing too special. The service was fine, and the restaurant was quaint. We would eat there if we needed to, but it probably isn't somewhere we would choose to go again.

I love that they have so many vegan/vegetarian options, especially biscuits and gravy (which I ordered)! It was pretty tasty, a little peppery for me but the biscuits were well made. I liked that it was a mushroom based gravy and it was a huge portion! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. It was like being at grandma's house.

This place is a gem for the GF community. Even my bf who isn't gluten free rated their breakfast sandwich (the biscuit one) as a top 10 in his lifetime of sandwiches (and he is obsessed with breakfast sandwiches). I would have attached photos but they didn't make it long enough to be photographed. We also walked out with a selection of bakery items (scones, cookies, cinnamon roll things) that I'm looking forward to trying. The food prices are extremely affordable and I would have also walked out with a couple loafs of bread however the price on those are a bit steep for me.

It was okay. Nothing really spectacular. Not all the items in the cases are as fresh as they should be. So, nothing wrong in particular, just not superb.

We got the fish n chips. Flavors were on point and not too salty like fish n chips can sometimes be. My only critique would be to chop the slaw ingredients much more finely, but it tasted perfect. Friendly service and great menu. Interior could use some fresh paint and TLC.

As a celiac, I was really excited to eat here since it's a dedicated GF facility. The result was shambolic. Our wait time was nearly an hour for a sandwich, fries, and some bread. The restaurant was not busy, and I noticed that others were experiencing extremely long wait times too. Our fries came out burnt, the "chili" on top of the fries was watery and lacked flavor, the cheese bread didn't even have browning or crunch, and the sandwich lacked technique (bread was slightly toasted, but ingredients weren't especially flavorful or seasoned well, mushrooms weren't well-marinated, etc.). It's rare I eat lunch somewhere and am not happy, and I was really sorely disappointed with our experience here. We won't be coming back. The service staff didn't seem to be in a good mood, and given their counter service layout/style, the tip I left feels like I was robbed. Definitely not worth the $50+ we spent.I've revised this review following response from the owner. We hope to give it another try next time we're at the Tulip Festival! We've seen so many positive reviews, and it leads us to think it was really just the wrong day and time to be there.

I've eaten here a lot in the past few years. The food is usually quite good! Lots of quality options, a few are less great. The drinks, however, have never been good. I don't understand. I would recommend eating here but would NOT recommend getting any sort of coffee-type beverage.

Shambala catered my daughters wedding and the food was truly amazing, delicious and beautifully presented. There was truly something for everyone, all gluten free….and this was a tough crowd with celiac, vegan, various allergies as well as comfort food meat eaters. From grilled salmon and corn on the cob, to GF pasta and beef dishes, salads, and wedding cake… and much, much more. Nancy Chase, her chef and staff are truly hard working, creative magicians.

I got a Jalapeno Cheddar bagel and sourdough donut holes, which they freshly fried after I ordered them. They were all gluten free, and delicious!

I adore this bakery and restaurant. We've been here a couple of times now and every time we drive through town I want to go back. As someone with Celiac there is something so special about a restaurant like this and, truly, Shambala is a treasure like none other. I recommend anyone eating gluten free in the Puget Sound area to make a pilgrimage to try out their food at least once. You will have no regrets!
