“We've been looking for places to eat out and this will be one that we'll definitely return to. The food is delicious, (they've got great meatloaf) prices were reasonable and the staff attentive to more than just their phones. More important is that it's still got that homemade hanging out with friends type of feel there.** These days you see less and less of great places like this as they're chased out by big box name chains. (The type where the food all tastes the same, you don't get to ask for substitutions, you don't expect friendly conversations and the waitstaff that sees their job as done the moment you get your food but still wants a large tip.) So, support small and local businesses like this to keep them around. This one is worth the drive.“

“We live in Newport and decided to venture out to try a new restaurant. The Edgewater Lounge provided us a very nice dining experience! My son (who is not prone to make such remarks) commented on the coziness of the place as we sat down. (I agree!) Our server was fantastic - she could not have been more welcoming or friendlier. The pizza my son had was excellent, my fish and chips we great (though did take longer than the rest of the meal) and the red beans and rice were enjoyed by my husband and daughter. I do wish they'd had more gluten free options, but that aside, we look forward to returning this summer when the outdoor beer garden is open!“

“My husband, my best friend and I ate here for a early lunch and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this steak bite appetizer and burgers. All of our food came out absolutely perfect. Only complaint that any of us had was the waitress was not friendly at all and seemed to not even want to wait on us. We had to ask for our drinks to be refilled and for our ticket twice.“

“What a yummy find! We were on our way home from a soccer game in Illinois and with the good reviews figured we'd give it a try. Late at night, it felt like the restaurant was in the middle of nowhere - like a hidden secret! It's nothing fancy but both the food and service were terrific. The burgers and the catfish were the standouts. We tried two different burgers and both were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the fried pickles! Wings were good, but the breaded kind with sauce on the side which isn't my favorite but that's a personal choice. We also loved the French onion soup. Drinks were very affordable (after $14 cocktails last weekend, $6 was a bargain!!!). The kitchen was backed up so service was slow, but the food was worth the wait. I will definitely return if we are in the area again!!!“
