Not a retail bakery. Not open when Maps indicated it was.

I wanted to share my experience with 8 Arms Bakery's Gluten-free breads. 90% of GF breads are pretty disappointing. They're half the width and height of a normal loaf, the taste is bland, and they needs to be toasted be have a reasonable texture--even for cold sandwiches.. We consider them vehicles on which to carry P&J, tuna, or whatever. 8 Arms GF bread is totally different. It's oversized (at ~3 1/2 pounds it's fully 3-4x the weight of a typical loaf of GF bread), quite flavorful (especially toasted), and it's texture is great. My favorite sandwich bread is sunflower millet and banana bread toasted and buttered is incredibly delicious. Being a small business in Tumwater means supporting the home team rather than a corporation, having 70% organic ingredients and not having the usual laundry list of hard-to-pronounce ingredients means it's healthier, and it's delivered to the east-side Co-op (another great local small business) fresh twice weekly. Their only drawback is they when sliced they're less sturdy, so we cut thicker slices--and at least not doughy like Costco GF. But with all the positives I'm still a big fan. My thriftier wife's eyebrows shoot up when I buy it do to the higher price, but you get so much more quantity and quality it's clearly the best value you can find. They also offer 12-week shares where you pay up front and pick up bread weekly.

Their website is confusing if they offer gluten free products

Such a great community bakery. Try their meat pies. Or even better their bars. Super great vibe and always great and helpful staff.

Delicious variety of gluten free and vegan options.

Meat pies I bought were good. But the customer service was horrible. 2 young ladies in the store when I was there acted like I was an inconvenience and really didn't want my business. Asked a few simple questions and was treated to no helpful information. Food was not good enough to make me want to come back

Fresh homemade style baked goods. Unfortunately if you want pretzels you need to pre order.

I had been wanting to go and check this place out for awhile but was such a disappointing experience. Everything I bought tasted stale and old. The crust thick and chewy. Very disappointed, I had hoped for a fun bakery experience.

This place is a bit hard to find and everything we bought tasted as if the shortening had gone over. Stale and dry, with a greasy bottom. It was also expensive for tasting like week old product.

I love this place! I stop in 2x a month just about for yummy treats! My kids love their banana bread! I love just about everything I've tasted!

I tried their month long weekly bakery subscription and was completely impressed. I am vegan and absolutely loved having fresh bread, cookies, and treats! I will be purchasing another in the future for sure!!

The bread here is dense. I understand gluten free bread being dense, but the normal bread is extremely dense. If you're looking for light and airy stuff this is not the place. I'm glad they have gluten free and vegan options, but it's not tasty. Gluten free stuff have come a long long way. They're great now, on par with their gluten counterparts. However, here you can definitely tell it's gluten free or vegan. I'm used eating gluten free items that are nearly identical to the gluten items. Or tasting better than their gluten counterparts. All of their gluten free items crumble easily. Good luck making a sandwich. It's so hard to eat as half of it ends up on the ground. I'm not used to gluten free items doing that! I've tried most of their Christmas cookies. They're okay, nothing memorable. For the price I could've bought tastier ones at Haagens. Cinnamon rolls are dense both gluten free and normal variety. I was expecting a soft roll like Cinnabon so the texture took me by surprise. I've had bought different varieties of loaves of bread, had their pumpkin pie, quiches, and their bars. The I love coconut bar is fantastic. I've tried 8 Arms Bakery 3 times and I'm not impressed. The customer service is definitely not friendly. It's more get your baked goods and leave. No smile, hi how are you so don't expect it. Both the owner and her employees have been my cashier and they're not friendly. Easy to find and parking is ample! I would check out their bars. Everything else I would skip.

If you can find it, this place is amazing. The smell wafts out of the door and pulls you in like an old cartoon. They have vegan and gluten free options clearly marked. Pies, breads, cookies, savory stuff. Don't forget to open the fridge for more tasty stuff.
