I greatly enjoy the expert who conducted our garage door maintenance. He was very pleasant and spent no time in getting back to work. Now I'm certain that our garage door will be in good working order!

Big disappointment! I wanted breakfast treats to bring a friend and came here when the other Redmond bakery was closed. I've lived in Redmond for years but had never been to Hancock's. Surely a bakery that has been in town so long must have great pastries, right? Turns out, not so much. The pastries in the display cabinet were pretty and looked enticing so I bought a box for my friend and one for my family. I tried ours AFTER I delivered hers and I was absolutely mortified. The pastries were clearly day old, and likely several days old. The coconut cream crescent was so dried out I could taste coconut but there was no evidence of cream, except a dried smear in one part. The first two rings of the cinnamon buns were actually crunchy although clearly not burnt. The strawberry jam pastry was the only one even marginally fresh tasting. I won't be back and if you choose to visit, I encourage you to ask questions before you buy. Well, my bad. I thought the "closed" part just meant not opened yet this morning, but now realized this business has been taken over by another business! Whoops!

So disappointed that the new ownership is not keeping in tradition of what Hancock's bakery once was. I think that this changed hands twice as the first handover of the bakery said they would be keeping and baking the favorites. I am saddened that I have to say goodbye to the cream cheese danish. Also, the prices are way too high at $3.30 for a muffin with a flat top. Wasn't worth it. I think they're a cake decorating bakery. Terrible customer service, empty shelves, and higher prices.

Under new management, not a good thing. Try Whole Foods. Our family relied on Hancock's Bakery for 20 years, for every birthday and holiday occasion. There were cheaper alternatives, but none better. We were offended when Hoffman's expanded into Redmond, and Hancock's had to clarify to callers that they weren't the interlopers, that Hoffman's was different. But I digress. My wife's birthday is January 2nd, and for 20 years we'd pick up her cake before Christmas and freeze it, since the (previous) owners left for their annual week in Hawaii between Christmas and New Year's. When we called in December, an unfamiliar voice told us they were too busy and couldn't accept our order?! Weirddd, but whatever; we made other arrangements. My birthday was this week, so my wife called Hancock's to order my favorite cake - chocolate with raspberry filling, yum! That same unfamiliar voice confirmed they were the new owners, and swore they used the old Hancock's recipes. Ok then. Well, they messed up the order, but the real problem ... The cake itself was a big disappointment ... and that's a serious understatement. We each had one slice, hated it, and tossed the rest of the cake. It was ugly, the decorations were amateurish, and worst of all - it tasted bad. Our kids made better cakes from a mix in grade school - same or better appearance, and better taste. No way the new owners are using the original Hancock's recipe; or if they did, they botched it severely. It's extreme to say "worst cake ever" but neither of us could remember ever having a cake that bad - we're both in our 60s, so we've had a lot of cakes! Not acceptable from any bakery, let alone our beloved Hancock's. My wife was so upset that my birthday cake was bad that she tried Whole Foods and picked up a vegan chocolate cake - it was delicious! Just like that, Whole Foods is our new go-to cake supplier. Their cake was everything the new Hancock's cake wasn't - moist, flavorful, beautiful, delicious. Twenty years of dedicated patronage with Hancock's, gone in a flash. It's sad when "change" isn't "progress" but sometimes that's how things go.

Did the baker change from three years ago? That was the last time I was there. This time the cake was dense, dry and looked like I decorated it- which isn't a good thing-lol. I'm terrible at decorating cakes that's why I buy them for special occasions.

What in the world happened to this place? I have ordered cakes and baked goods for years and been so happy. I'm guessing it changed hands. I ordered a cake that wasn't edible. Cake was dry, frosting hard and way to thick. Very disappointed.

Recent owner change. No more freshly baked bread. Very disappointed.

Recent owner change, so fewer items than before, but they do a good job on the baked goods they make. I see they still make custom cake but haven't ordered one.

People are crazy about their oats bran muffin, and a while back I got one from a friend, and it was pretty good - crumbly, right level of sweetness, and healthy! Until this week I wanted to go back and get more. Tuesday when I went in and asked for oats bran muffin, the store lady told me not now, because the batch was burned. "Come back tomorrow and we should have it" Wednesday I didnt go. Thursday when I went in again, the same lady, told me we dont have oats bran muffin. I was like, hmmm? She then said we stopped making them. I was like, hmmmm, when? She said pretty recently, just this week. I am not sure if she's making stuff up or telling me the truth. But as a business, this place could be a little bit more consistent on what you tell the customers.

Went here today and am disappointed. I had always loved this place but it seems there are new owners .The pastries are easily half the size they used to be and have hardly any filling and they are still the same price, possibly more. Definitely will not be going back.

I'm running five stars for the Nostalgia that I feel coming here. I will always remember the smell of this place it's amazing. it's been here ever since I was a kid and lived in Redmond 20 years ago. It hasent changed much it's a very small bakery with some pastries cookies and treats that are all very high-quality ingredients. The prices are very decent and they also sell coffee. This is not very modern Bakery but it has the feel of a mom and pop shop still. Locally owned and operated by owner.
