I was invited out to lunch by a friend and he recommended we go to Matt's Oyster Lounge. It's located in the Redond Plaza. My friend and I walk in and are immediately greeted by the hostess and waiter(s). After being seated, my friend is friends with a chef there. We ordered the Salmon chowder which was delicious. Calamari, with roasted red peppers, absolutely delicious and King Salmon fish sandwich, which wasn't flavorful, though edible.

Our waitress, Diana, was exceptional and friendly, great service. Food was great. However, the person at the front desk almost soured the experience for us. We've eaten at Matt's for years. She did not acknowledge us, no smile, nothing. We walked in all the way to the desk , stopped, no response, we had to ask her for a seat...no warmth or anything. Then on the way out she was too busy flirting with a male employee and didn't say one word to us. She was wearing her hair in a top little bun. Not what you expect when you drop $100 (plus tip) for a nice lunch.

We had a great meal at Matt's. The oysters were very fresh and tasty. I was disappointed that the prime rib had sold out, so get there early. My steak frites was excellent. The service was friendly and attentive.

The burger was fantastic, patty was nice and thick while the BBQ sauce is unique and flavorful, adding a certain uniqueness to the dish! The brioche bun is very light and a nice compliment. All the appetizers are amazing, definitely start there but skip the bread pudding at the end - it's dense and dry - whipped cream couldn't help. Overall, worth a go, just front load your dinner, cheers!

We went for an early dinner on Saturday after seeing a movie. I got the March special - Langostino pasta and my mom got the seafood chowder and scallop risotto. We each got a drink - I got the ginny hendricks and a huckleberry martini. For dessert we had the creme brulee and chocolate souffle to go.Food: chowder was delicious - flavorful and good sized chunks of all the seafood. Risotto and pasta were absolutely to die for - lots of lobster in mine and four HUGE scallops in my mom's. The sauces were so creamy and flavorful. Both desserts were tasty as well, even after being transported home! The white chocolate ice cream with the souffle was my favorite, but the amaretto flavor in the creme brulee was also noteworthy.Drinks: both of mine were really good and stiff! There were some cucumber seeds in the ginny hendricks, which were annoying but not terrible.Service: we had Preston, who was very prompt, helpful (we had trouble choosing between the prime rib, the stroganoff, and the dishes we ended up getting. I hadn't even noticed the specials until he mentioned them!) and overall a great server!

Mikey was the ultimate host. His pleasant approach to our gluten concerns, to explaining the menu, to ensuring our evening out was going to be comfortable & not rushed, it was perfectly orchestrated, Mikey certainly knows his audience! Our meals were terrific! From the Kushi Oysters, Applewood Grilled Steak Frites to the Rotisserie Salt & Pepper Half Chicken, our meal could not have been better. Between great service and amazing food there is NO question that we will return!Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free concerns, no concerns here!!

I was in town for a wedding and we had the reception dinner here (very small wedding). I had the salmon and it was delicious. The drinks were also top notch. There were just a couple of things that caused me to bump it down from a 5 star to a four. First of all, Seattle is known for its cider, yet there was only one cider option on the menu. Second was that everyone who had any of the meals with steak in it, were not fond of it. It was clear to them that the beef wasn't as high quality as the restaurant claimed and therefore worth the price being charged. So if you go, order anything but the beef and you'll have a grand time.

This is probably the longest lasting restaurant here besides red Robin. Service is always excellent. We have kids and enjoy their happy hour, there's a few tables that allow for this.
