High traffic area, but the worth possible approach and exit. I forgot this place was even here until I noticed it was closed last week. Considering other local locations haven't lasted, like Denny's I think these family style restaurants are done. You can't serve small portions and mediocre food and expect people to remain lined up. Despite traffic, I just think anyone would find this to be a tough location. That said, with the hotel next door a decent restaurant should be set up for success.

My friend and I have gone to Shari's in the Renton area (Maple Valley Hwy 169) a few times. We have experienced the most horrible customer service ever!!! I was told the our server was yhe manager in that location...didn't have a name tag, nor a positive attitude at all. when ordered we were told thar they didn't have this or that. The so-called manager who was our server was not apologetic that what we wanted was out. My friend did comment "What else is out?" because this friend was really hungry. this server was our server last time we were in Shari's and she forgot to put in our order so we waited for about 45mins and my food was not cooked properly with the mashed potatoes (very dry) and the rice pilaf was under cook, we ate it anyways because we were already there and after eating there we gave her a tip and we bought a pie. Very poor customer service and will not go back there if this so-called manager/server. I used to really love the customer service at Shari's but with thisRenton Location gotten awful. i do underatand being under staffed but the positive attitude should always be there to make Shari's grow better.

Delicious pies!! We were returning from a long day hike and were driving through Renton. We ordered three different pies for take-out. The sour cream lemon and dutch apple pies were delicious. Did not like the chocolate so much. Staff was very polite and professional.

I wouldn't go here again. All they have are booster seats with no seatbelts so we can't even enjoy a meal because our one year old can't be buckled in. Only one server, and she seems less than thrilled to be here. Sub par customer service. Won't be back to this location.

Had a great time here, very nice atmosphere not very busy so you could hear each other easily. Food was great, friend said it was the best pancake they've had and I personally enjoy the lemon pepper chicken and rice greatly. The pies were great, I enjoyed a banana pie milkshake (highly recommend) and another friend had the seasonal sour lemon pie our waitress recommended. Our waitress Carrie was awesome, she was quite attentive even whilst serving the entire store and she was a very nice person to be around quite personable and friendly, very musically inclined. We loved her.

What an outstanding late night meal! We got into Renton around 7:30pm and headed over to Shari's. Our entire meal was piping hot, service was fantastic, and the pies are a MUST!

Me and my husband are CRAZY about Shari's food. It's delicious, comforting & perfectly portioned. We recently moved to Renton and always pass by this location. So we decided to try it out. I'm not too sure why there's so many bad reviews as me and my husband had a pleasant one! We decided to get dinner here on a beautiful PNW sunny day. We were immediately greeted by a host in the front , got seated very fast as well. Our server was so funny and sweet, definitely a awesome lady! You can tell this location is a bit outdated inside and outside, but very CLEAN and neat which I love. For what you're paying for there portions are honestly GOOD. I ordered my favorite the fried steak with that yummy hot gravy sauce , sunny side eggs and biscuits and everything on the hash browns, The plate was huge and delicious and HOT! Arrived very fast as well! My husband ordered the fan favorite " meat skillet " me and him agree the hash browns are well seasoned and packed with a lot of goodies chives, sour cream, bacon and cheese! And they didn't skimp on the meat either and it even included either pancakes, biscuits , French toast & etc he for French toast fluffy , perfectly soft and sweet. Also he ordered the strawberry lemonade said it was great fresh fruit, sweet lemonade perfect refreshing side to drink. I loved how our server checked up on us, She was so attentive , funny & sweet. So overall we had a good experience ! The only reason why I'm giving a 3 star review because of the location , there can be some scary people if you go later on the day because it's close to the hotel and freeway and streets. So I kinda felt unsafe parking my car at the restaurant.

Renton Washington Shari's location Black and brown people and anyone that wants to avoid racist interactions avoid this location. The manager threatened to call the police on my 73 year old father and 11 year old son when they complained about waiting for an hour for a curbside pick up. The order was placed curbside because my father is disabled. I called to check on the order and the person that answered the phone was not helpful and said to come inside. When my 11 year old did so as I was on speaker phone he was ignored. When my father limped in to ask what was going on the manager told him he was being too loid and that he would call the police if he continued being loud. What the heck kind of establishment threatens an elderly disabled Black man with the police because of the restaurants errors? One that is not being managed well and should not be in a diverse community such as Renton. This is NOT the end of this.

Warning of potential harmful interactions for BIPOC. Black and brown people and anyone that wants to avoid racist interactions avoid this location.Yes, I said that super uncomfortable word. But that is exactly what took place and what I have witnessed at this location previously. The supervisor and a staff threatened to call the police on my 73 year old father and 11 year old son when they complained about waiting for an hour for a $100+ curbside pick up. The order was placed curbside because my father is disabled. I called to check on the order and the person that answered the phone was not helpful and said to come inside. When my 11 year old did so as I was on speaker phone he was ignored. When my father limped in to ask what was going on the supervisor began saying just a minute and when my father said no we have waited long enough. They told him he was being too loud and that they would call the police if he continued being loud. What the heck kind of establishment threatens an elderly disabled Black man with the police because of the restaurants errors? One that is not being managed well and should not be in a diverse community such as Renton. This is NOT the end of this. I was on speaker phone and my son was smart enough to record the situation. Do not go here and Shari the supervisor needs a new kind of job that doesn't involve interacting with people if she is so scared and gets so overwhelmed.

We liked Shari's and it has been our go to since we moved up here, but our last experience was our nail in the coffin. We've been at least fifteen times here, probably more, and the food is almost always good and well prepared. We've had one or two misfires, but with one the server was very amenable to correct it. The staff has never been rude when you're at the table, but they're clearly spread too thin. It does take ages to get your check or to find someone to help you with something like a refill, but I know they're very short staffed, and at least they still have a positive attitude. Especially one of their (managers?)--I think his name starts with a D, but he's always very positive and really lifts the mood.I say that because it's really disheartening to try to go there and wait in the waiting area for at least ten minutes without any kind of acknowledgement. Like they actively avoided even looking at us or the other people waiting. I know it's not the servers' job to seat people, they usually have a host, but when there is none, at least a time estimate would be nice, or even hello. We're a pretty amenable group, and haven't complained when the order is wrong, or having to wait fifteen minutes sometimes just to get a check. We tip well, and it was really just insulting. We get it, you're busy, and probably burtout, but at least have the courtesy to tell us you can't seat us. We'll do what we did, which was leave, and it would have spared you this review.

Food and service was 6/10. There was an employee that I believe goes by Tyler that was really nice and helpful. I noticed that he was a dishwasher and saw that he went above and beyond to help the servers as they were clearly understaffed. He explained that he was only a dishwasher but he would try his best to help us get the best service he can provide. I would give them a better rating, but like I mentioned, they were understaffed and the employees looked very stressed, which I don’t blame them.

Several issues.... Seated right away to be ignored after 20 minutes finally our order was taken. They had a few wait staff, but a lot of trainees that could not take our order. People wow came after us got their food before us, don't think i will going back.
