This night the hall hosted the Northwest Folklife Festival's "Indoor Picnic" for staff, volunteers and sponsors. This facility has a helpful staff, great acoustics, a large dance floor along with both booth & small table seating. This gem of the old Hillman City, now the 5800 block Rainier Avenue, is a place I can't wait to come back to soon for a future event!

The Production Rental Service supplied by Ricky G and Marcus was exceptional! They helped Washington Hall provide tech support for Comrades Sisters: Women of the Black Panther Party Book Release event. They were so helpful with service and additional support. Yay Black and Tan Production Rental Service!!

Let me the first to give you a foray into what you might expect from this place. I stumbled upon a pop up hosted by Chef Tariq at the Nurturing Roots Farm and it was an evening filled with warm friendly people , delicious, creative food, vibrant cocktails and music. Check Midnight Mecca on cheftariq.com and you will not be disappointed. He collaborated with local farmers and businesses and brought to life a vegan menu worthy of many Michelin stars. I am not a vegan and neither were many of the 16+ dinners but we didn't miss the meat. The setting was a outdoors on a local farm, with a fire pit amidst the plants and tiki torches . The service was impeccable with folks from feed the people and nurturing farm on hand. We got a chance to meet and hear from the local farmers between dinner. I ate an Armenian cucumber for the first time and was introduced to words like zartar, tabil, hawajii! So many fun new things and chef Tariq had beautiful way of mingling this in the food so it's subtle introduction to your senses. I cannot wait for this restaurant to open. It will be revolutionary in terms of food and experience. I highly recommend his next pop up and then the restaurant (when it opens).
