The owner recently published his opinion piece where he spreads misinformation about the minimum wage law for food delivery drivers. He claims that the city of Seattle is randomly forcing corporations to pay gig workers "roughly $30 per hour" which is just a regurgitation of corporate lies. Instead of being mad that gig workers now get paid MINIMUM WAGE, how about being mad at the corporations that are charging excessive fees both to customers and to restaurants? It really makes you wonder how Byrek & Baguette workers are treated. I wouldn't be surprised if the owner commits classic restaurant wage theft through shady tip pools, missed breaks, or just plain ol' underpaying workers.

Unfortunately they don't think app delivery workers deserve minimum wage. They are explicitly politically opposing the policy that secures fair pay for food delivery drivers, after the policy only being in effect for 3 MONTHS! They can't even give the changes time for implementation- changes developed BY the gig workers who deliver their restaurants food. Don't eat here and don't support restaurants that oppose minimum wage for workers.

Byrek & Baguette's owner just wrote a REALLY lame op ed trying to get delivery workers' minimum wage law repealed. The entirety of the argument is "we don't get enough orders when workers have to be paid minimum wage, so workers should simply be paid less than minimum wage." That's really really pathetic & I definitely won't be coming here anymore. Too bad because I live close by and was kind of a fan! I can't imagine they treat their own workers much better. There are many better small businesses in Seattle we can support that aren't using our money & support to actively try to undermine minimum wage!

I ordered in via Uber Eats. Tasty chicken/apple salad except the best part, the goat cheese, was totally absent. Extremely disappointing.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The shredded beef baguette has my heart. And the fries with the pesto aioli????? Lots of good breakfast options, other sandwiches, and of course byrek! Great atmosphere, nice plants, kind staff.I couldn't believe when the u district location closed - it is my great hope that this one would continue to thrive and never leave. So underrated.

Fries are bomb, basil mayo is so good. Sandwiches are decent as well. Very friendly staff. Prices way more expensive online even for pickup as opposed to ordering in person.

Nice owner run establishment and good service and ambience. We ordered the spicy omelette which lived up to it's name and the baguette sandwich was delicious. Took the beef and spinach byreks home, but they did not hold up well to reheating. Would love for a lamb option in the future to which the owner lady was very receptive and has promised to let me know when that comes on the menu ;)

Good sandwiches and salads. We usually frequent this restaurant at least once during our Seattle visits.

Super cute spot and even better food. I had the Mediterranean baguette and it was fabulous. I grabbed it in the morning for a work lunch later in the day and it tasted like perfection.

I was in the neighborhood and looking for a lunch spot and was so happy to discover this place. The food was outstanding and fresh and so full of flavor. The space is adorable and very clean, and the owner was so friendly. We had the lentil soup, Mediterranean salad with chicken, and a spinach and feta Byrek - all so delicious! Parking in the area wasn't terrible either and I definitely plan to return! They also have some delicious baked good for a sweet treat!
