Listen, I really enjoy this place, bottom line. The primarily outdoor atmosphere is great (particularly on a nice day), neighborhood is fun, drinks are great, etc. And I NEVER post reviews. However, I’m voicing my experiences for the benefit of the establishment. The staff has proven to be, for some reason, incredibly defensive/confrontational on multiple occasions. I’ll try and make this short…1. There was an instance when one of our friends in our party questioned the drink that she had ordered at this place for years. In this case, she had gotten the drink in a smaller glass than usual. When she (politely) questioned the waitress, apparently she misread the tone in which it was asked. But ultimately, we ended up saying “nbd all good”. This then lead to our party being denied further drinks (you’ll have to believe me, but we were not obnoxious or too drunk) without them giving us an explanation. At the point that we continued to ask, we were told we were rude to the wait staff.2. One of our friend’s food came very late after she submitted it via her phone with the rest of us. Everyone else’s food came except for hers. Whatever, all good. We had finished our meal, and she decided to politely ask for an update on it. The waitress then decides to rudely and defensively respond in an objectively snappy tone.Fun times at Citizen, but beware of the staff in a lousy mood!

I genuinely don’t understand why the staff is so rude here. This place is so cute and has so much potential but the rude staff completely ruins the vibe.

Confusing service. Inside and out are mainly separate. If u want food u order it at the table, drinks u have to go up and get separately -figured this out by trial and error. Great outdoor space but food and drinks are mediocre. Pretty sure they know that and try to make up for it with heaping amounts of guac.

Had a great time in their "lounge" on a Friday evening with a group from SSP. Been here for breakfast, but never in the evening. Outdoor heaters, lots of seating, tasty on-tap stout beer - love me some dark beer! Others ordered food and raved. Unfortunately, it was Friday and Lent, so, nothing for me...BUT will definitely be back to try the spiced ramen bowl, nachos and/or bulgogi burrito. Smelled amazing and were devoured. Looks like a perfect pre-Kraken game gathering spot....even better if "the Boys" win?!? 100% recommend happy hour/dinner after this experience.

I was looking for a place to grab some caffeine and get some late work done on a wet, winter late-ish on a Sunday night. This fit the bill nicely. Friendly staff. Anything you could want to drink, hot or cold, beer, cocktails, coffee, and more. Seating at the covered outdoor tables by the campfire or at the indoor tables upstairs. Other folks seated nearby had some tasty looking things to snack on too. Nothing too fancy about anything here but it was exactly what I was looking to find.

Came here for brunch recently and really liked it! I feel like this place is pretty underrated since not too many people talk about it, but the food is tasty and I love the space/seating area. There's some indoor seating, but if the weather is nice I recommend finding a table outside! When you arrive, you choose any open table to sit at and scan a QR code to order and pay, and the food will come out. I got the lemongrass tofu and it was super tasty. It came with breakfast potatoes and toast and was a pretty good portion

Nice place to unwind. Really nicely opened Wed - Sunday just to hang out and sit in front of fire. Cocktails currently are $13ish unless you get well specials that are about $11ish and they participate in local events for reasonably priced food. Very enjoyable location. I got the nachos for $10 with meat for additional $3.95.Vegetarian options: Nachos with black beans are delicious and vegetarian

Bring back the biscuits! You went from one of the best breakfast sandwiches of all time to one of the worst Yes, the disappointment makes it worse, but a burger bun? Seriously? Just wrong.

Friendly staff but no signage indicating it's self-seating, so as first time diners, we stood around awkwardly for awhile until some other diners sympathetically told us what to do. Cozy local spot with food that tastes home-cooked, both in the sense that it hits the spot but also makes you wonder if you could've just made it as home. Will be back to try more dishes but we tried the cowboy casserole and strawberry Nutella waffle

We had the Nutella waffles, and they are very good. The wait was very quick. The food came out 10 minutes within ordering. It's also very nice and inexpensive place to grab a quick brunch. Every bite was absolutely delicious. I would definitely suggest this place.

The Citizen used to be a fantastic hopping busy place to get the best brunch. We went back after a long while to find that theres new ownership and unfortunately a lot has changed for the worse.First, now you have to order and pay upfront on an app that notes your table number and pay a tip before knowing if the service is good. We didn’t have high hopes on service since we didn’t even have a server (theres a bin where you get your own silverware, napkins and condiments) but we loved the food we had in years past so we gave that a pass. The bloody Mary we ordered was VERY light on the vodka and had zero spices. V8 out of a can has more flavor. The chips and guacamole we ordered the onion in the guacamole tasted like it was going rotten and the chips were stale and were not fresh made and obviously store bought poured out of a bag which I guess wouldn't be as big of a deal if they werent stale. It just bugs me to pay $9 for a handful of chips and the bag of chips i have in the cupboard are fresher and cheaper. The rest of the food was ok and a little bland but nothing special. At the end of the meal we were wondering why we even came here and wasted $76 on a meal. Don't go and waste your money. The Citizen died when the ownership changed hands. RIP Citizen

Honestly very underwhelming. They do have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating which is great. They have outdoor games, fire pits and more. I heard their cocktails are supposed to be good. We came for brunch and we got burritos, a savory waffle and the turkey jam sandwich. The food wasn't flavorful at all. We also ordered lavender matcha which tasted like plain matcha. We also got a cardamom honey oat latte which tasted like espresso with oat milk and absolutely zero cardamom or honey. Definitely pricey for the lack of flavor

We had white bread toast , chicken sandwich and coffee ( white mocha ) . All of them were impressive and well presented. They have good dine in place both indoor and outdoor as well.
