I recently visited Elliot's for the first time since moving from Seattle in 2012. Everything was great until we got our bill and saw the TWENTY PERCENT SURCHARGE! If this was an automatic 20% for the server, fine - for great service, I'm usually a 25% tipper. But the fine print with this says that the server works on commission, and 100% of the surcharge goes to THE COMPANY! Was it not enough that I was already spending over $400, and now they want to slap me with a non-negotiable surcharge? And screw the server out of the great job she had done, because now I'm pissed at their greed, that there's no way I'm leaving even more money? This is ridiculous, and I will discourage anyone I know from ever coming here.

i’m not sure where all the good reviews are coming from. this place is a tourist trap and a huge rip off. the only good part of my meal was the drink, a blush crush off the cocktail menu. i ordered the king salmon special at the server’s recommendation. the plate was $65 for a MAYBE 3 oz sliver of salmon with a weird rub on it, atop a very minuscule amount of vegetables. one of my colleagues ordered the sockeye salmon, which was at least twice as big as mine for a much smaller price, but hers was also ruined by the same unpleasant rub they used on mine. two of my colleagues ordered sea scallop plates, $43 each, which each came with 3 sea scallops and a tiny scoop of risotto. the only person who was moderately satisfied was the colleague who ordered the seafood pasta, which had more scallops than the other scallop dishes. we were only a small group of 5, and a 20% gratuity was charged automatically. the server was nice, but she wasn’t all that attentive beyond taking our orders and bringing out the food. most of us left pretty sad and still hungry, but it was too late to top off elsewhere. this wasn’t even a situation of “fancy” small plates… it was tiny portions of extremely bland and average food preparation. my grand total was $109 for 1 drink, 1 plate, and 20% gratuity. save your eating out experience for somewhere legitimate downtown.my partner and i went to Alder & Ash the next night and it was a way better experience. no matter where you choose, there are many better options in seattle. don’t settle for this one just because it’s easy to get to and on the waterfront.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Elliott’s Oyster House twice within a month and was thoroughly impressed with my meal! The oysters were fresh and expertly shucked, with a brininess that was perfectly balanced. Perfectly combined with their mignonette vinaigrette and champagne sorbet to cleanse the palate.Recommend pair your meal with a nice bottle of “Lucien Albrecht” Brut Rose ? ?But the real stars of the show were the mussels with cilantro and jalapeno sauce - the combination of flavors was absolute perfection. The spicy kick from the jalapeno was tempered by the brightness of the cilantro, balanced with creamy sauce and the mussels were cooked to a tender, juicy perfection. And let's not forget the burrata salad, which was a delightful surprise. The creamy burrata was paired with fresh, crisp green pesto and pistachios and a light, zesty dressing that complemented the richness of the cheese beautifully.

My party had to sit at the bar to avoid the 30-minute wait for a table on a Wednesday night. After about 10 minutes we were approached by one of the wait staff and our order was taken. The food arrived surprisingly quick and was quite delectable. The view was excellent on a sunny evening and it was obvious this is one of the most coveted dining spots on the waterfront.

dont order the scallops! $43 for 3 scallops and a tiny scoop of risotto. you have got to me kidding me. and the server was not informative at all. not to mention the 20% service fee auto added to the bill before tip. i will never come back here.
