I will be making my first Ethiopian dish and came here for a couple items that are hard to find elsewhere. Injera and fenugreek seeds. The lady working today was very friendly and helpful, as the fenugreek was in a ziploc bag and not labeled. The injera looks very good and has a nice color to it. Not much parking out front so I parked next door and walked over. Great little market, just research what you need ahead of time so you know what to look for since many items are not labeled. Good prices too! 3 large injera and the bag of fenugreek is bursting at the seams. Just $10. I will come back for more authentic Ethiopian ingredients!

It was the day before Christmas Eve and one of the coldest day of the year. The road was icy. I planned to go get some Ethiopian spices so I can make my own Ethiopian food. I drove to a nearby Ethiopian market but they were closed. So I called around and a restaurant/market was open. So, I ordered and picked up my food and it turned out that their market had closed down some time ago. I started to panic since I had gotten further from home but had set out to get some spices. So, I dove around the Ethiopian neighborhood hoping that a store would either have their door open or an "open" sign. But they were all closed. So, I tried calling around, and finally this store answered and I made my way there. I read out my list of spices to the lady, and she helped me obtain all of them. She was quite pleased that I had known all my spices and when I asked for the Kibbeh (Ethiopian spiced butter), she seemed reluctant, but I begged her saying that I don't know how to make it. So, she went and got a big jar from the fridge. I think it was her personal stash and not meant to be sold. Nevertheless, I was so happy, because I got everything on my list from one store which perhaps was the last Ethiopian market opened on an icy Seattle evening. It is unfortunate she had an unpleasant teenage son some years ago who was probably just immature and hopefully he had grown up by now or had moved away. The lady seemed down to earth and honest. I highly recommend that people shop there. Although I must say, it is a very small store so probably won't have everything beyond basic Ethiopian food supplies.

Just Simply

Excellent customer service I wish it was always fully stocked! Sometimes I get to the store and they out of things I need nevertheless both Male and female employees or owner are always friendly! The product they carry are much more better than the typical Ethiopia or Eritrean stores that carry the same products called Almi or almy out of Georgia that gives me immediate stomach pain! I definitely recommend this store!
