We take some pizza and salad (spinach) home from here to mix up our Friday pizza night. Good thin crust with a nice texture to it. We get extra sauce as it can be a little thin for us but that would be our only ding for Flying Squirrel but it is easily remedied via a request. Staff is always friendly and quick when we choose to dine in as well.

Place looked like TONS of fun and the kids did have fun, BUT every last one of us got COVID there. They didn't have nearly enough employees, I actually really wanted to jump behind the counter and help! There was no cleaning being done at all....

Perfectly Passible Pizza:Nothing too exciting about pizza from Flying Squirrel when it comes to taste. It's better than Domino's/Papa John's but unfortunately does not stack up to the countless other pizzerias found among Seattle. The price was not all that great either. They do have a wide assortment of toppings and combinations, which if you do fancy their pizza would provide lots of different dimensions to your pizza experience. We probably won't be returning here again. Like I said, too much competition around here.

Really enjoyed the pizza and the meatballs. Service was exceptional.

Fantastic. Perfect mix of good neighborhood pizza with high quality ingredients with some more “gourmet” options. Laid back environment for dine in.

I got a gluten free pizza a few weeks back and the crust was absolutely terrible. Completely uncooked and almost raw on the bottom. Had a taste or cardboard or play-doe. Bummer because everything on top was good. Would not recommend unfortunately.

I can't believe if I haven't reviewed this place before now. I've been here many times and the pizza has been fabulous every single time. Top-notch service too! I wish I had found this place pre-pandemic so I could experience the service in person but for now I'm happy with my take out.

Pizza is bland like so many Seattle pizzerias.

The bacon, caramelized onion, blue cheese pizza is hands down my fave pizza in Seattle! I recommend getting the larger size - you won’t regret it. A little pricey but that’s this area. Their ranch is also delicious for all my fellow ranch aficionados. I wish they had their tiramisu but I guess I’ll just have to go back :)

Ppl from the northeast (NY&NJ) know how difficult it is to find good pizza in Seattle. flying squirrel was the closest (barely) I could find. Have been frequenting this place since they opened in Mapleleaf. With the pandemic it’s only been takeout. My previous experience was not good. No online ordering and they don’t pick up their phone so you have to go in person to order then wait. (There is not much to do in Mapleleaf while waiting) Okay, benefit of the doubt. Lots of places are having trouble figuring out the situation. Today I go to google it it offers grub hub. Nice! I will order online, pay, leave a tip and pay for my pick up order.Get there and no order. They don’t use grub hub. Okay. Put my order in and wait.Mind you I ordered in person. I asked for a cheese pizza and a meatball pizza and cheese bread. Picked up my order and got a cheese pizza the size of my remote (hence the pic) and a container of meatballs. If you do order a pizza here, get a large. At the end of the day the pizza is okay, better than most places. But 1 star for service. UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE. Say you don’t use grub hub. Simple, easy peasy. And nothing but an “apology” like it was my fault for ordering on grub hub.Buy a frozen pizza at Trader Joe’s, you’ll be happier.

I have been on the hunt for the right pizza place for me, and Flying Squirrel gets close but not right on. We only tried the margherita pizza, so that limits my review. Pros: the crust is truly crisp--unlike so many others in the neighborhood--and has a fragrant, yeasty taste. This is probably my favorite crust around, and I say that even though the thickness of the crust underneath was not uniform all around (thinner and thicker in different places so that some slices were floppy and others stiff). The pizza is also not overly greasy. The ingredients are good and fresh. The staff is professional and polite. And the location seems to make parking for takeout easy, as was our experience at 7pm on a Saturday night. Cons: the pizza is under-seasoned and the sauce is strikingly bland. It needed salt, which is not a tough fix for the customer, but the sauce also needed something else, like garlic, oregano, etc. Just tasted like canned, crushed tomatoes. The aforementioned yeasty flavor of the dough is really the main flavor, and that is weird for pizza. Maybe more meaty offerings skate by this problem because of the stronger flavors of meat; something to keep in mind. All in all, a solid place, but be sure to have your preferred seasonings on hand to boost the flavor.

Some of the best pizza I've ever had in Seattle. We got two pizzas that I highly recommend: potatoes and chicken sausage, and another with prosciutto and caramelized onions. They were busy but it was absolutely worth the wait!

As good of a pizza as I've found in Seattle. The crust is terrific, the pepperoni a natural casing that shrinks into perfect little grease cups, and the side of anchovy was excellent. The caesar dressing has a terrific funky flavor. Great value.
