Went in to get my usual morning cup of coffee and breakfast. The guy at the register taking orders was very rude and unwelcoming. When asked about cup sizes he looked really annoyed. Also did not let me know when my food was ready. Just put it on the table. and walked away. There were other Customers waiting on their orders, so there was no way of telling who’s order it was because he did not announce. Overall experience was not pleasant for my first time coming to the establishment. The The lady who seems to be the barista there is really nice. Overall, the coffee was good. Food was OK. Atmosphere was good. The service was not.

I was visiting Seattle and wanted to explore some of the local shops and stumbled into this one! I loved the atmosphere! The bacon, egg, and cheese was incredible and the dirty chai was one of the best I’ve ever had!

Decent coffee, workers apparently didn’t have theirs yet when I visited, relatively dead inside.

I went into Grumpy Bean yesterday morning and got myself a Mocha. I’m a barista and love visiting new cafes, normally I’ll just get an espresso for my first visit to a cafe but I had a long commute ahead of me and wanted something to savor during the trip.Location of this cafe was very convenient, it’s located right in front of a bus stop that has many connections. The speed of service made me feel like I’d be confident sneaking in another visit between connections again which is very important.I was extremely satisfied with the Mocha; chocolate wasn’t overpowering, milk texture and microfoam were perfect, latte art was a simple rosetta styled heart but had defined edges and filled up the top of the cup perfectly.Service from the Barista was exactly what I needed. I was welcomed in and the Barista was engaging but I didn’t feel pressured into having a conversation, which was very appreciated since I was still half asleep at the time. The cafe itself was nice: lights weren’t too bright, loved seeing the bracket of the top shops on the wall, and the tables and chairs were clean.Overall a fantastic experience and I’ll be stopping in again, one of the best experiences I’ve had and I’d highly recommend.

Barista was very rude. I asked about milk alternatives and she just shook her head and didn’t answer me. Also had to get her attention to take my order in an empty shop. Would not go back

I’d recommend this place. The grumpy bean had great coffee and I really enjoyed the almond croissant. The staff was very friendly and the place was nice and clean. It was a cute layout and I thought it flowed well. I liked seeing a playoff bracket of coffees on the wall. Really cute idea! I plan on stopping by next time I’m in town.

Cute coffee place! There's a decent amount of seating inside. Creative coffee flavors and I absolutely love their cookies! Have to give them a try. Self service water provided. Charming for sure!

Stopped by on a rainy Thursday morning to a delightful bright spot with hit coffee and good food. It was a nice place to get out of the weather and recharge before continuing on to

Only coffee place I've been to that has Tool and System of a Down playing on their sound system. Bonus points for the coffee actually being pretty damn

It was a little odd that only one person was making drinks during a busy time- they should definitely have another person there to help out. Other than that, the coffee was great and so was the bagel and cream cheese. I also really like the name of this place :).

Stopped in because of the reviews so happy I did. Nutella mocha was bomb as was the cheese bagel. Music was great too, love me some rock with my morning coffee.

The Grumpy Bean is my new favorite place. The owner, James, is a sweetheart and I met some of his cool friends and customers at his recent gathering. I'm also addicted to the cinnamon rolls he sells. Better than any pastry shop Reminds me of some of the great coffee shops I found in Europe... intimate- cozy and welcoming. Annie

Short guy was very rude after asking a question about the menu. Coffee was ok, nothing memorable.
