Fish was fresh and it was lovely sitting on the pier watching the birds and boats. The breading on the fish was lacking flavor, but overall it was a decent fish and chips.

Ivar's doesn't disappoints. This was the first time we had it fresh from the restaurant. In the past, we bought the refrigerated version from Costco. If you can't make it to one of their locations in Washington State, then the Costco version is just as good. The cod was moist, firm and tasty. My only complaint is that the 5 pieces of cod could have been larger. A good place to take out of town guest for local seafood at reasonable prices.

It is not what it used to be. My last visit was 20 yrs ago. The chowder was heartier and tastier back then. Now its a watery no taste soup. The customer service was atrocious. The cashier was super pissed she had to work? She shouted in front of me "Well I guess I have to take care of this sh-- myself." Like, uh, what? I should've walked away, but I was hungry and wanted to relive this experience. I wouldn't visit again.

A great restaurant at the Waterfront with yummy seafood dishes. Great Fish & Chips and Chowder. Ate there a couple of times during my stay.

Excellent food and service. Fresh seafood at a Seattle landmark. Would definitely recommend and will return when I'm in the area.

We were told this was the spot to go for fried fish. We found out ourselves it really wasn't the fish that was that good but their CLAM CHOWDER. If you come stop by, you should try their Clam Chowder. One of the tastiest I've had. For their fried fish, we preferred the Cod and Halibut over the Salmon since the Salmon didn't exactly taste that right with the breading. I've heard Bill Gates stopped by here and surprised he did. Wasn't a top choice for me besides their chowder, get the chowder!!

After enjoying a round-trip ferry ride to see the sunset I was hungry and ended up just walking along the waterfront and encountered this restaurant. So I figured I would give it a try. It was about 9:30 PM on a Thursday night and there were only a few people waiting. Once you place your order they make it fresh which only take about 10 minutes. It includes the ketchup and tartar sauce but remember to grab a fork because I didn't have one in my bag. I sat on the side of the building next to the water. Overall this was pretty basic. Nothing special. I don't think there was any seasoning on the fish. The fries are also pretty basic. So overall it's a meal if you're hungry and nothing else is available but it isn't anything special.

This is such a great place to grab some food in Seattle. Definitely waiting in line is worth the wait of course. The flavor in their cooking is good. Plus it's fresh fresh so you'll never be disappointed.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch recently and we were really glad we did. We really loved the food. It was served hot and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the great weather.

While on vacation my wife and I were excited to eat at Iver's. We ordered outside which was very unorganized. They weren't too busy when we got there but right after I ordered it picked up and that's where the issues began. I ordered the 3 piece cod and my wife ordered "red" chowder thinking it was Manhattan. It wasn't it was just red chowder. My fish was very greasy and soggy and so were my fries. If the fish and fries were cooked to crispy then they would have scored much higher but did not enjoy my soggy lunch.

Its like this joint has a cult following. Many patrons, locals and tourists. Social media endorsement might have helped it also. But whatever hype it was experiencing, it was real . The cod fish and chips, calamari ( my personal fave) baby prawns , and scallops. So is the chowder . Definitely must try. Pair it with soda.,the unconsumed fries can be offered to seagulls who won’t oblige at all . They have a take away counter, but there is a dedicated area with tables and seating.

I've been going to Ivar's for years and have always been a fan. However, I was there a few days ago and ordered the four piece cod fish and chips and the salmon chowder. Unfortunately the fish was not fried at the proper temperature and was extremely oily. This fish was sitting over the fries which made them extremely oily and soggy. Extremely disappointing for the $23.00 price. Had the fish been cooked at the proper temperature, it would have been great. I did taste extremely fresh. Chowder was great as always.

For fried lovers only. Besides the delicious clam chowder- everything is fried. Crispy, golden brown crusted prawns and fish.. very scrumptious and plump. Sunset below is at Ivar's in Gene Coulon memorial beach Park. I could eat a chowder bowl and watch the sunset everyday there. FYI sunset/parking are free.

We come here every summer and enjoy the food and atmosphere. The salmon chowder is fantastic and the fried cod was great! It's fun to feed the seagulls, too!
