This was our first time visiting Kisaku, and my first time doing omakase. It was an awesome dinner. The nigiri was super good and fresh. The variety the chef picked out was excellent!! We will definitely be back!

I love this place. The food is delicious and fresh! Always a delight. The servers are lovely and non obtrusive, and the ambiance is pleasant. Great place for any kind of lunch or dinner date. You can count on an environment where you're able to take your time to enjoy the food and your conversation.

Our chef Richard and his teammate that night were amazing! We did Omakase at the sushi bar and felt so taken care of. His mastery and creativity with his fish combos was amazing. Every bite exceeded the last one we had and I didn't think it could keep getting better. Loved the yellow jack, uni, the ora king salmon, toro flight. The prices were so affordable for something that you would find in even the fanciest edomae places right now. I had 19 pieces and it was less than $100! The vibes in the restaurant were neighborhood-y and fun. I will 100% be back.

This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant in Seattle but the last two times I’ve gone have been shockingly bad. I spent $200 for old mushy fish. The bonito and albacore were especially unfresh. I felt embarrassed bringing friends telling them how good this place is only to get served bad fish. Very sad to lose this spot but I can’t go back.

We went here for our anniversary and Richard (the head chef) was part of our omakase service. He was excellent - professional and kind, very knowledgable about the sushi he was serving us. It was a super busy night, but he never look flustered and got the job done for the whole restaurant and for us. Well deserved stars for this restaurant!

Our go to sushi restaurant in the Seattle area for the last 7 years. The hamachi with tai chilies appetizer is amazing, and the garlic edamame is addictive. The portions are generous and skillfully prepared; and the staff is courteous and attentive. A hidden gem in the middle of tangle town!

We have been to Kisaku several times and the food itself is always incredible. Previously the service matched that, which was why I had booked it for my husband's birthday with four of our friends. 5 of us were seated and ready at the reservation time, with one friend who was delayed about 20 minutes. We all began with some appetizers and sake while we waited for her. From the get go our waiter seemed a bit panicked and overwhelmed; there was never any small talk, courtesy, or charisma that skilled servers weave into the serving experience. When our friend arrived he didn't bring her a glass or plate to share with us I told asked about 10 minutes after her arrival. We constantly felt hurried during our dinner and simultaneously our server gave us incorrect information several times about dishes, which was apparent when they arrived at the table. He also incorrectly identified my husband's omakase with all but two of the nigiri. While my husband didn't mind (it was as usual the highest quality and delicious in the food department), it was frustrating to have him seem confidently wrong and stressed. We would have much rather he had a note to help him and/or bring a labelled diagram. Throughout the dinner the hostess was the only employee who wished my husband a happy birthday despite the note in the reservation. The server overall was acceptable, he didn't ruin our night, but he definitely didn't enhance it. The food remains great, but this wasn't the experience I was hoping for as part of a celebration.

It’s good but the sushi takes FOREVER. plan on waiting like an hour for your food.

Absolutely love Kisaku - so much that I have some hesitation in letting too many others in on it. Outstanding sushi curated from the absolute freshest fish - often with a special chef’s twist: sprinkle of a citrus infused salt, or a smoky mayo dotted onto king salmon embellished with roe. This is always my “dessert” .Also - you can hear yourself and converse with others. People bring children who get to enjoy real delicious food. Owner is chef. Even the seating is curved and comfortable and welcoming. My kids’ favorite place to have a special dinner with mom.

Had been wanting to try this place for a while. Was excited by the menu, and they generously offered us a free app or dessert because it was my birthday. The food was generally decent but not special. The tempura starter was excellent. The mushroom salad was tasty but literally swimming in dressing. For the main I ordered the 12 piece omakase nigiri. The fish was generally good, it seemed fresh and had good texture and flavor. However, the chef used too much wasabi for my taste, overpowering the fish in several cases. Most perplexingly, the server couldn't tell me which fish the chef had selected for that night's omakase. This was disappointing as I would have liked to know what each piece was (I'm a sushi fan but couldn't ID more than maybe half by look and taste). And more generally, I find it bizarre (perhaps unacceptable?) that a restaurant couldn't tell its diner what they were being served). I don't think I'll be going back.
