Before you enter this restaurant. Please have a mindset to embrace a FULL authentic Thai hospitality experience. You will hear the wok roaring, staff yelling in Thai for different dishes in the open kitchen and a BIG amazing personality of the host who keep on serving us whisky at the end to thank us to accommodate the chaos during peak hours. The restaurant is a small little hut with about 10+ tables. A lot of people order for take out but make sure you bring your patience. If you want to dine in, be prepared that you have to set your own table and put your order on a napkin and pass it to the kitchen. That's ok. As in most Asian countries, that's what you do in order to enjoy good food in small family run restaurant. Food is authentic, excellent portion and great price. We ordered Spring Roll, Garlic Chicken Wing, Green Curry, Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad Prik Khing, Pad Se Ew, all in spice level of 3 which is pretty dang hot. If you want mild, I would suggest 1.

*vegan review* My husband and I have been coming here for years and it's one of our favorite Thai places in Seattle. Kwanjai Thai feels like your friendly neighborhood Thai restaurant; it's usually pretty busy for dinner and you'll see a lot of local regulars and people picking up to-go orders. But even when they're busy, food still comes out quick, fresh, and delicious. The owners and staff are no-nonsense, and if you are respectful and kind, they are also kind and generous in return (and treat regulars like family!) I've seen entitled customers come in and act extremely rude to the staff, so any reviews complaining about the service are just people who received the same thing that they were dishing out. My favorite dish on the menu is the Summer Fire (spicy!), husband's favorite is Pad Kee Mao. The curries and fried rice dishes are also delicious, I don't think I've had anything less than amazing. Most dishes allow you to choose your protein and they also have no problem making dishes without fish sauce/oyster sauce/eggs upon request, great for vegetarians and vegans. Portions are also generous for a very reasonable price, cheaper and much better quality/value than most other nearby Thai restaurants IMO, which is why we started coming here as broke college students. Kwanjai Thai forever!!!

This place is amazing, by far the best Thai food I've had on the west coast. You aren't going for the atmosphere inside, you're going for really great food cooked by good people. We order takeout regularly and have only had one issue with the wrong protein being included, but it was an honest mistake. There are other Thai places in Fremont but this is the best quality and has better prices by far. Portions are generous and they aren't shy with spice. Stop reading reviews and get over here

Tried Kwanjai Thai Cuisine for lunch. It’s a few steps away from Fremont Coffee Company. We dropped in on a Sunday (noon). Most entrees are $12.95 USD. We opted for level 2 (medium) spice.- Brown rice ($2.00 USD) - good portion. Enough to share between two.- Massaman curry ($12.95 USD) - potatoes touch hard, beef slightly chewy. Liked the peanuts but curry was too sweet and thin.- Pad kee mao ($12.95 USD) - wide flat noodles had a good bite. Good portion of meat (pork), decent wok hei.Average Thai eats at KTC.

After Tup Tim Thai closed I felt lost, until I found Kwanjai Thai. The ower Kwanjai was a chef at Tup Tim Thai. They don't do any of the delivery services, claim any online profiles...just make amazing Thai. I've been a total convert since I found it! I order the fresh rolls for appetizers for events (they are cut like sushi vs. trees) which is great for sharing. The location is not convenient, but there's parking across the street by the Ballroom. I've only had takeout. I highly recommend it.
