Great food and willing to work with vegetarians!!!Music was awesome.Atmosphere was bland.Bit of a shame. If they turned up the ambiance, turned down the lights, changed the seating, they could charge three times the amount.

I really appreciated the variety and uniqueness of their menu here, especially the starters and signature sashimi. Our highlights were scallop-uni with yuzu sesame and seared salmon with truffle ponzu but other dishes we ordered were also good and there were so many more on the menu I'd like to try so definitely will be returning! Efficient service and attentive staff. Clean & minimalistic ambiance. Highly recommended!

Rock solid. Only ding is slow service yet friendly. Sushi candy and moriyama roll were superb. Tako sunomono salad was stellar too.

We were craving sushi and happened to walk past this restaurant. It was peak hours (~7:30 on a friday night) but we still managed to get seated right away. The waitress was very friendly and helpful! We ordered the Moriawase for two which was a big plate of nigiri. The fish was not bad but also not exceptional. I'm not sure it's worth the pricing, but I was starving and it really hit the spot! It came with miso soup as well which is a nice plus. The matcha beer was a super cool experience! The bitter matcha pairs with the IPA very well, I would definitely recommend this to beer and matcha enjoyers. The sushi candy was really yummy -- seared salmon and scallop with a yummy sauce on top -- but I'm not sure it's worth $13 for two pieces. Overall I had a good time at this cozy sushi restaurant, I'd love to come again to try their happy hour!

Ordered lunch deluxe for two. Fish was fresh. However, they were very thin slices of sashimi. The owner should not be so cheap to charge almost $40 for a couple of thin slices of fish.

This place is a true gem. Fresh delicious sushi that is authentic and not fried or drowned in mayo sauces. Everything on the menu (and especially the daily fresh sheet) is great, especially recommend the “sushi candy” and the hamachi sashimi with truffle apple peppercorn (OMG delicious!!!) Recommend reservations if you go on a Friday or Saturday night.

The food was awesome. Me and my gf got the sushi omakase with additional uni nigir and ama ebi that we ordered. The fish was all so fresh and the service was great. The restaurant vibes are really nice for a date night

Moriyama Sushi in Seattle isn't just a restaurant to me; it's a treasure I discovered last year and it quickly became my happy place. From my very first visit, I was struck by the extraordinary quality of the sushi, a cut above anything I'd had before. What makes Moriyama truly special is Chef's talent for creating layered, nuanced flavors. Each dish is a culinary journey, far from your standard sushi fare. After numerous visits and tasting nearly everything on the menu, I can confidently say there's not a single dish that disappoints. The Ora King Salmon with Yuzu Vinaigrette is my personal favorite, and if you love a bit of heat, the Japanese Ceviche with Citrus Pepper is a must-try. The Salmon Lemon and the signature Moriyama roll are also exceptional choices. But Moriyama is more than just great food. Over time, I've gotten to know the chef, his family, his apprentice, and the staff. They're warm, caring, and genuinely passionate about serving fantastic sushi. Dining here feels like being welcomed into a family home, not just another restaurant. This small, intimate place, with its amazing team, offers an experience that's both flavorful and heartfelt. If you're looking for an authentic, intimate sushi experience in Seattle, Moriyama Sushi is the place to go. For me, it's more than a restaurant; it's a cherished part of my Seattle visits.Vegetarian options: Not many places make flavorful vegetarian rolls but this is the exception. Chef packs a lot of flavor into each roll. I have take a few vegetarian friends here that were very impressed.
