The reviews I read prior to going were spot on - not worth the money, don't get seated at the table in the middle of the walkway, the tea gets stronger and more bitter the longer you sit there, but, the ambiance and service was wonderful and it felt really special. Take all that in account for a special occasion.

Been to this place for an official meet. The vibe of this place is amazing. My mentor has been in Seattle for a long time and she was mentioning that this place was the original location of University of Washington and now they made this into a hotel and the university expanded in a different location. It was very close to my heart being a UW alumni. The service is amazing. The staff went out of their way to explore different drinks based on my taste and the food was good. I would say that I was more impressed with the vibe of the place, staff and drinks. Food was okay!! Would definitely visit this place again and a perfect place for unofficial meets.

My husband and I came here for a light bite after having a beverage at the speakeasy. We were serviced very quickly even though it was a busy night. Our server brought us a small table and we sat at one of the round couches. I had a French 75 and he had an old fashioned. I ordered the crab dip. I will say the dip itself was phenomenal. The chips were quite a bit overdone for my taste. The prices were definitely way up there so be prepared to spend a lot of money on two drinks and an appetizer.

We went on a Saturday, expecting a lot of people, so we were pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't packed, allowing for a quiet atmosphere. The tables were spread out so even if they were all occupied at the same time, I don't think you can hear others' conversations. The selection of tea was impressive but sadly that day, earl grey was out. The scones were fresh out of the oven and they were light and tasty. They actually reminded us of biscuits. The sandwiches were mostly delicious; the only ones we didn't really enjoy were the roasted beef one. Though the sandwiches seem like a lot of food, they weren't heavy, which we appreciated. The desserts were all right. The sponge of the mini-cakes were a bit dry; the panna cotta was more like yogurt. Our favorite was the passionfruit tart! Overall, we had a great time! I am not sure if we would return to this location but it certainly got us interested in other afternoon teas.

Outstanding!!! one of the best bar, The sleek décor and intimate seating create a chic atmosphere that's perfect for night out with friends.

Overall nice experience. The service was great as were the facilties. The food was fine, but not amazing. We were seated toward the end of the afternoon, which may be to blame for dried out bread and soggy choux. The tea was loose leaf with over the cup strainers, but there was no mechanism to remove the leaves from the pot so the first cup was great, the rest oversteeped. The sandwich fillings were yummy, and there was a nice variety of dessert. There is room for improvement, but I'm glad we went.

The service was good. The sandwiches were good. The scones and pastries were very disappointing. I have had teas locally and internationally and the pastries here were not great. Scones were dry and over baked. Cakes seemed old and dry.. besides a little passion fruit tart others were bland... not on par with the sandwiches.. except chicken salad needs color and taste improvement.

Overall, my sister and I were happy to have had the tea service at the Fairmont on a Sunday afternoon. We had gone once before several years ago when it used to be located in the Georgian. Although the ambiance of the new lobby location is different and not quite as fancy classic, it's still pretty and quaint. We sat at a small sofa that wasn't too low to be comfortable for eating. Our server was professional and personable, no complaints about the service at all. What needs improvement: the hot water for the tea was not hot enough. If you drink black tea on a regular basis, you'd notice. It was under temperature every time they refilled our pots. Could it be deliberate to reduce the risk of accidental scalds? A couple of the sandwiches weren't super delicious, but they were fine and the sweets were definitely better. I'm glad we revisited, but I was hoping for 5 stars instead of 4.

I loved the experience of afternoon tea at the Fairmont. From the different teas to the savory & sweet bites to our server, everything was excellent. The ambiance of the Olympic is also stunning. I highly recommend for any sort of event!

We had two meals at the fairmont, brunch and tea. Both were terrible. The egg salad sandwiches were on thick pieces of dry focaccia. We had kids with us and they put peanut butter and banana on dry croissants. The actual tea was good but the food was not worth the money. The hotel is beautiful but the food leaves alot to be desired.

Ambiance is wonderful but some tables/seats are close together with other guests while your chair/seat is just far enough from your own party. If you have difficulty raising your voice, be sure to mention that to the venue when making the reservation and ask for a table where you can speak softly without getting drowned by other sounds and voices.

The temperature of the tea was not hot enough so it cooled too quickly. The bread under prime rib was dry and hard. Service was very great, but we were little underwhelmed with food.

This was an absolutely lovely way to spend an afternoon with friends and celebrate a special event. Adorable setting. The service was beyond wonderful! Everyone was very welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive —they were the true stars of the afternoon! Our server even surprised the birthday person with an extra treat at the end! The scones and accompaniments were the highlight of the food. Several sandwiches were also delicious but a few were bland and dry. The sweets tier was the fail of the offerings.
