Hey, Thai restaurant specializing in cuisine of the Isan region of Thailand, which apparently features less curries and more grilled meats and spicy salads than the Bangkok style cuisine. Most Americans are used to. The offerings were certainly unique (and the pork jerky was delicious!) but I felt the portion sizes were a bit small for the price. Certainly worth trying though if you’d like to sample something beyond the typical pad Thai/pad see ew!Vegetarian options: There are fewer vegetarian options here(meat dishes are more emphasized in Isan cuisine), but they are available

While visiting Seattle, I had dinner with family at Pestle Rock. Located on a busy street in the Ballard neighborhood, the space itself was small, but did not feel cramped. Our attentive server suggested some dishes for us to try. The menu was extensive without being overwhelming and had options for meat eaters and vegans, alike. My group enjoyed everything we ordered.

The ambience is great, nice decorative lights inside of the restaurant. The service is prompt. Coming to the food, I sadly wouldn't come back here. The food is very average, small portions too. I have had a lot of good Thai food in Seattle. This did not make it to the list. I ordered Khao Klook Ka Pe, the shrimp paste fried rice, but didn't enjoy it. I substituted the pork belly sauce with a regular Thai sauce. My husband ordered khao soi with tofu. Its one of our favorite Thai dishes but this one didn't meet the bar, it was much better than the fried rice, had decent flavors but we have had way tastier versions. We had a $80 bill for 2 people with 2 dishes, one tamarind soda and 2 cocktails (includes 20% default gratuity fee). Not at all satisfied given the amount we spent.

One member of my family got the TOM YUM TALAY and it was truely unique and it a very good way. Definitely a must order if you go here… All the other dishes were delicious too, probably the best Thai I’ve had… the waiter was extremely nice and the food came extremely fast… Nice atmosphere and relaxing Thai music… we will be coming back. Thank you Pestle Rock for the memorable lunch!

This is a really interesting Thai experience. It's not your typical pad Thai place as the menu explains! They are focused on a regional Thai cuisine and had unique dishes that were new to me. I had a stew that was so flavorful and yummy, with pork potatoes carrots onions etc and a side of rice. It gave comfort food. Along with a Thai Iced tea cocktail.

Pestle Rock is a one of a kind restaurant. Totally cool vibes and amazing customer service. The food was deelish! Literally bursting with flavor with every bite. I got the Guay Tiow Tom Yum. I cannot tell you how good it was without underselling it. It was amazing!!! Deelish!! Phenomenal!!! Yet…. I’m still not doing it justice! lol. I also had a Whisky drink made with ginger. It was great too. But, that soup!!! Anyhow, this is a great spot and worth a visit.Vegetarian options: I saw great veggie options!Dietary restrictions: You can change add or subtract from dishesParking: I found street parking directly in front.Kid-friendliness: If kids love that…. This place is great!

God forbid you attempt to share the tea. We received horrible service from the very beginning. Rude waiter lacking any personality. Then, we had one person in our group ask for tea. Fine, a few minutes later we received a kettle of tea with one cup. So, we asked for an extra ceramic cup so we could share the tea in the full tea kettle. We were treated as if we were attempting to rob the restaurant. It was absolutely forbidden that we share the tea kettle. We're not talking about a free refill or anything. It's an extra ceramic cup that we requested. Our request was vehemently denied. Really???? We are paying good money for each plate and they made a heavily enforced point that we can't share tea? ....Really? Who.... running a restaurant believes that this is a good decision? Nickel and diming people in a high end restaurant is an awful strategy. Pitiful, honestly. Dissapointing. Lame. Rude.

This is an amazing Thai restaurant with decent prices on dishes, great flavors and friendly servers. We had meing plaa, Mee ka ti, special seafood curry and kao soi. Everything was very delicious. It's usually busy on weekends so make reservations and plan accordingly.

This review could be 5 stars if the restaurant put in some simple changes but, as so many others have mentioned, PORTION SIZES!! The worst part is that the menu explicitly states their food is "meant to be shared" yet, for two people, we ordered two entree dishes and I added an appetizer just for myself, and I left with my stomach growling. The food they serve is far from family style, it doesn't even meet the bar for individual entree sizes. The flavors were solid, but the entrees averaged $20 and neither was enough to be considered a full meal. I was really looking forward to this dinner, but we had to get a second dinner before going home just so we didn't end the night hungry.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! It's a small spot that's a bit hidden so you might pass it or assume it doesn't have much to offer but don't be fooled. The food here was AMAZING and I can't wait to try more items. We had the nam tok which is grilled beef with a few spices and herbs. It seems so simple but it was so incredibly flavorful and tender. I could eat it all day!! We also ordered the Gai Phad P**** Gang which was a perfect stirfry and had great spice. The service here is wonderful as well, they are very attentive and welcoming. I can't wait to come back ASAP.

Delicious lunch! I’ve never had Thai food that tasted quite like this did. Very flavorful. Before walking in, I didn’t even realize Pestle Rock was a Thai restaurant and I wish I’d started eating here sooner. The Thai iced tea was great, too.
