My partner chose Stateside for his birthday dinner, and it was all around an excellent experience! Ambiance is modern, clean, and not stuffy at all. You'd feel just as comfortable in athleisure as you would in dressy cocktail attire here. Staff was welcoming and extremely knowledgeable, and paced the meal perfectly. We started out with a cocktail each--I can't recall the names as their website cocktail menu does not match what we saw, but my partner had a mule with lime leaf and galangal that was absolutely spectacular. The lime leaf and galangal made my palate SING and it was hands down the best iteration of a mule we've ever had. Now the most important part: FOOD. CRISPY DUCK FRESH ROLLS | Y'all weren't playing, this was the GOAT, and by far our favorite dish. It was texturally perfect, and I do not throw that description around lightly. The crispness of the spring roll inside a fresh roll!? Absolutely genius. I will say that my Korean American palate registered the seasoning on this as just barely teetering on a tiny bit oversalted side (esp with the accompanying dipping sauce), but the texture was so divine that I really can't dock it. STICKY RICE DUMPLINGS | A deconstructed dumpling, really. The rice dumpling on its own would have been nothing to write home about, but the combination of everything (ethereally fluffy dungeness crab! earthy maitake! perfectly cooked taro!) with the broth made it all work so well, especially texturally. The broth was basically buttery liquid gold. MASTER STOCK CRISPY CHICKEN | This was perfectly good chicken, but I can't say it was that memorable as a whole. We ordered a side of the brussel sprouts which were delicious (again, texture was on point with the rice cracker pieces) as well as the ginger rice to go along with this, and I have to say the brussel sprouts were far more memorable. Superb texture really seemed to be the central theme of our dinner, so while I'd really recommend Stateside to everyone, I'd ESPECIALLY recommend it for those who have an extra appreciation for textural masterpieces.

Came here for their Valentine's Day set menu. The food was really really good. The chili crisp stroganoff which is available on their regular menu was one of my favorites. Just a bomb of flavor and the potato cakes were a wonderful texture and something I wish I could find in a store to take home and make.Definitely a worthwhile stop if looking for a modern fusion twist to classic Asian dishes and/or a slightly fancier date night spot.

Such a great place for a wonderful meal. The vibe is awesome, the food is outstanding, and our server was such a nice guy. He even got my friend the paint colors they used in the restaurant… above and beyond. We loved the fresh rolls. Cocktails are good, but if you like boozy tasting cocktails… you won’t be finding them here.Visit!

We ordered the crudo, the dumplings, the rockfish, the goat curry, and the duck egg custard. All of the dishes were delicious (my dining companions eyes rolled into the back of their head while eating the curry). Across the table, everyone agreed that of all of the dishes we had, the dumplings and custard were our standout favorites.

Everything was phenomenal. We were running a few minutes late to our reservation and had to add one more and I felt bad and my fears were immediately allayed by the gentlemen at the front. We were sat at a nice table overlooking the busy street and we both ordered a beer. Our server was fantastic and extremely informative about everything on the menu. We ordered three appetizers to split and they were all soooo fresh and flavorful with stuff going on in my mouth I would never even imagine was possible. Such an amazing evening. I'm from Maryland and I'm used to the hustle and bustle of the east coast life so it was a pleasure to get to have a nice calm evening on the other side of the country with good company, food and libations.

Delicious and creative food--I hope they keep the goat curry and the hot butter rum drink on the menu. Great ambiance. Definitely a new favorite.

Had a delicious meal at this place and everything was so nice... until we were taking our last bites and asked to leave to make room for the next reservation. We weren't at all slow and felt rushed and not a nice end to a meal with friends. Besides that, it was really good service.

The restaurant was cute but the food was very underwhelming. The yu choy was not good, it just tasted soggy and bland, the duck rolls and goat curry were fine but not great, and the short rib was delicious but the accompaniments were not at all noteworthy. The desserts were also disappointing - they had nice components but it didn't feel like the components worked well together. The custard is really a bowl of pineapple with some custard added. Our server was pleasant but there was less flexibility about ordering an alteration to a drink than at some other similarly pricy restaurants.

Visiting Seattle for business, I found Stateside in a NYTimes write up. It happens to be close to my hotel so I walked to dinner Food was fantastic - enjoyed the crispy duck roll, goat curry and duck egg custard dessert. All courses hit perfectly in size, substance and flavor. Service was excellent. Attentive but not overly aggressive or enthusiastic. I always appreciate when a server can share insights to a dish that helps you confirm or deny your instincts. I was solo and had a comfortable table near the corner with a window to my back. Facing the dining room I had to appreciate the restaurant layout while enjoying an opportunity to glance at passersby outside. Dining room was modern and cozy

Definitely make a reservation before coming here! I love how tender the ribs were and the spiciness of the curry but my favorite was the squash salad! It's a great place to start a fun night when you're in CapHill or for a nice dinner date!

This is one of the better spots in Seattle. Well executed, creative French Vietnamese fusion dishes with wonderful flavors and texture. As a bonus, they have a somewhat small but strategically stocked wine selection including many great French burgundy's and Chablis which can be harder to find amongst the typical wine list saturated with Oregon producers.

Been coming here for years. Food and service and consistently excellent. Great end to end meal (drinks, apps, mains, deserts). Going with 4 or more people is great because you can eat family style.

The best meal and service we've had in a very long time. We had the dumplings, duck rolls, Brussel sprouts and the rockfish noodle dish. Every single one was gorgeous, delicious and elegant. Not one flavor out of joint or imbalanced. Our server was wonderful and service overall was excellent, non-intrusive and yet always there when needed. This all combined to make my husband's birthday dinner fabulous, including surprising him with a sour cherry coconut creamsicle with bday candle. It was SO good, not too sweet and really light and delicious. We'll definitely be back. Thank you Stateside!

got Duck Rolls & Prawnsso these were technically two small plates - around 18 dollars eachhere’s the dilemma with this placethe food was really damn good - the duck was incredibly fresh and tender, and wrapped perfectly in a mint-like leaf to add amazing flavor.the best part was the garlic prawns, though. oozing with cream, these prawns were astoundingly juicy and immensely satisfying to eat.as far as just taste, i don’t think i’ve had better seafood in my life than those prawnshere’s the issue, though - there’s just so little of it - especially when compared to the pricewe ended up sharing the two dishes, as our server assured us this would be enough for 2 people - coming to about 18-20 per person, and this was simply not close to enough food - no matter how good it tasted.as a restaurant, it’s a massive failure if guests are debating what place to eat at next in the middle of their current meal at that restaurantso despite the fact that it was really good food, it was essentially just really good appetizers, and this made it an experience i wouldn’t come back tooverall: 9/10 food, 5/10 experience for a total6.5/10

Went for Valentine's dinner. Food and service were very good. 4 courses of 2 different items on each course. We split 1 wine pairing. Only 1 of the 8 items we didn't care for. The beef and oyster tartare. Everything else was very good. Most items had a little heat to them. Would go back.
