It is literally life changing to have access to this meal service! I have multiple severe allergies that make it very difficult to find meals that I can eat without making them myself. Using custom plate has made my life so much easier, it tastes good, and I've never had any reactions to their food, which is much more than I can say for many allergy conscious restaurants I've been to. I also really love that they are local so there's no shipping waste associated with ordering from them.

BEWARE. Let me say, that we never actually got to taste their food. We had planned our wedding with the venue (Feast at Pioneer Square) and their catering business (The Custom Plate) in early December 2023 and had to fire them less than three weeks before our wedding. They repeatedly fell short on promises and communication. After consistent difficulty getting timely responses and clear answers from them, we agreed to a tasting of the menu customized for our food sensitivities about a month before our wedding. We confirmed their attendance the day before, yet the day of, they NO SHOWED to our tasting, citing the Chef had been sick for days (despite confirming the day before). Even worse than the no-show was how they ignored our repeated attempts to find a resolution and plan another tasting as we were down to three weeks out. Finally we heard from them four days after the no-show with a useless summary email of rental logistics (tables, linens, etc.) and no information about a rescheduled tasting. At this point we began researching their catering business, The Custom Plate, and found numerous 1-star reviews from customers that were very familiar complaints to our own. The final straw for us was the abhorrent responses from one of the business owners to their unhappy customers. We fully expect another unprofessional response to this review. We were extremely fortunate to find another venue and caterer and had a lovely wedding. We accomplished more with a professionally-run venue in an hour than we had in three frustrating months with this company. My silver lining: I've never had a reason to use the word "petulant" before but it perfectly describes the business owner we worked with and his behavior of irritability, ignoring our planning needs and blame-shifting. Shame on us for not investigating this company further before working with them. We hope nobody else repeats our mistake. To date, we've heard nothing from the Chef. They shut down their venue and are opening a shop on Mercer Island.

This service is working out great for me. I recently developed some sort of food intolerance, the likely culprit being gluten or dairy, and so these meals have helped me adjust to my new dietary needs. With it, I can have a solid base of gluten and dairy free meals, and can then add new things into my diet to identify problematic foods. I've been pleasantly surprised with how many dairy alternatives there are, and these meals are tasty while still keeping a simple set of ingredients. I like that I can order individual meals without a preset subscription. The owners have been responsive to questions and accommodating to special requests. I like that the meals are heavy on the veggies. I recommend adding the bundle of snacks as well to really round out the daily healthy eating.

Stay away. The other 1 star reviews are right on the mark. Worst customer service of any company I've seen in the hospitality industry. I canceled my current food delivery to try something new. I ordered a full week of meals and didn't hear anything for weeks. When I had the temerity to email the company to ask where my meals were, they couldn't tell me when they'd be delivered and decided to just refund my money with no explanation or apology. Try Thistle. Their service is excellent. Now I'm girding myself because the owner seems to berate everyone who leaves a negative review. And there are lots of negative reviews.

When I was told that I was prediabetic and needed to make changes, I worked with the Holistic Chefs here to completely turn my life around. They provided me with the food I needed to heal my body, provided supplements to support my nutrition and gave support any time I had a question of any kind, even if I was going to a restaurant and wasn't sure what I could eat. Completely turned my A1C around and now I am in the normal ranges again.

I love love love this place. The daily meals and the wellness meals are phenomenal and not fussy. Everything tastes great. The macro meals are perfect if you are looking to loose weight or are competing in any type of fitness competition - they are not fussy, whole ingredients, real food and not chalked full of salt. They also saved me last summer when my husband was deployed and I lost childcare for 3 months, I was able to keep up my nutrition without the burden of cooking or the mental load of meal planning. Tamara was also kind enough to walk through the wellness meal plan I should get to help with issues I have been having since the birth of my child. I can't say enough about this place!

Wow! This place is amazing. The food is delicious and health forward. The customer service that they give is impeccable. You definitely have to try The Custom Plate, it's a keeper!

Worst food of my life. Mac and cheese as a main consisting of over cooked broccoli with nutritional yeast! Edited- Seems some maturity has been gained in the previous months. Thank you for your response and while I detect a bit of sarcasm, at least you are no longer trolling your reviewers! Best of luck.

Talked with one of the owners via phone, did an intake phone call, emailed back and forth twice, then they completely GHOST you. Cant get a response via phone or email, month later i gave up. Not a reliable service.

A solid 3.5 stars. I've tried Custom Plate a few times now and it's not for me. Like others have noted, there is a lot of inconsistency: some meals have little to no flavor, and others are tasty. Portions, too - some days I'm still left hungry after eating my lunches, others not. The most bizarre thing for me was that neither the names/descriptions of meals received nor reheating instructions were provided. Since you can't select specific meals when you order a weekly plan (which I'm totally fine with), the least this company can do is provide a list of what's in the delivery or make it available on the website. A head-scratcher for sure. Otherwise delivery times are consistent (appreciate the early AM drop offs) and they are very responsive (got a same-day response to my email question). However, given the price, which is still reasonable compared to others like it, I'll go back to the other meal services I use.

We loved the variety of food, the taste, and the way it was made and delivered. Also, customer service was always available if we had a question about anything. The key word? "Custom." If you have needs, wants, or dislikes, this company invites you to let them know when placing the order. We will definitely use this place again. (Our taste buds and health insist on it!)

An incredibly rude business owner with terrible business acumen. I was charged for meals that never got delivered I contacted customer service and got an ATTITUDE from the business owner. Also, their "lean macro meals" are not 4oz; they are 3 oz protein, beware. And for the business reading this review, pick up a book on customer service. It'll help your business by a million.
