This may be my favorite sushi spot in all of Seattle! Very ma and pa homey vibe which I love! I ordered the sushi set and the house special tempura rolls and both did not disappoint. I loved how meaty and fatty the nigiri was in the sushi set, it tasted just right. This is a busy spot and service was slow as expected but overall goof experience. Also they only take cash, check, or venmo so just be ready for that!

Dishonest business. Never in my life felt this awful and scammed spending my money at a restaurant. Beyond terrible customer service by server lady running service, never seen a sushi restaurant charge $5 for ginger, 40+ min wait for 16 pieces of nigiri. When we got our bill we obviously wanted to ensure it doesn't include what we cancelled. Itemized bill was not legible as shown nor were numbers adding up. Requested a comprehensible itemized bill, different younger male server says "I don't know". New bill shows price of tempura that doesn't match (+$10ish) the price on menu. It also shows $15 charge for three requests for more ginger. We felt scammed. No apologies or desire to explain anything. Owner seems to believe because the business has customers not all customers matter. Like this they will lose more. We definitely will not be going back.

I came here three times and always spent more than $200 for two people. I usually get a lot of a la carte sushi but this time I tried ordering rolls as well. And was shocked by the size of the spider roll which was $20 including tax. I mean I did ask for no cucumber but there is barely anything in it. I had to double check with the server if it is the right one and they said its expensive because they put one whole crab leg. I mean so as the other sushi places? Aside from that I understand it was a busy time and people were waiting outside, but you cant bring the bill up to the customers when they are still working on their food. I waited over 30min for my food and was given less than 15 min before they brought up the bill. I do want to support local stores and stuff but no this is not the place. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Was seated at 6 pm on a Thursday at the sushi bar. First, we were hassled because we needed to move our seats over. We were served the appetizers and then hassled again to order from the menu right away because they were going to be busy. While the quality of the food was excellent, the rudeness of the hostess completely ruined the experience. We won't be going back.

It's always busy. And it's really generous portions of fresh and delicious sushi. The prices reflect the quality and generous portions. It was $60 for the large sushi platter which comes with six piece roll and 11 pieces of fish sushi, then two pieces of egg for dessert. The tempura sushi combo is about $35 and comes with at least two shrimp tempura and a plate full of vegetable tempura along with two maki rolls. This is very filling and a satisfying meal. Next to us the neighbors ordered the large sashimi platter. For $90 it was amazing. All meals come with complementary noodle salad and miso tofu seaweed soup. The hostess is really grounded and hospitable. She's impressively professional, calmly letting us know we will get seated without overpromising. The wait staff is excellent. Your water is always filled and empty dishes disappear very quickly quickly. It's a bustling space with happy people eating good food. Street parking pin rough during dinner time so try around back.

I ordered beef sukiyaki. Had high expectations especially for $40. Was a very huge let down. Lots of onions and very small portion of beef. Beef was not tender and dry, I think overcooked. In total paid $130+ for 2 people (tax and tip included). Overpriced for the quality of food.

Another reels recommendation. Cash and Venmo onlyWe live in issaquah so this place is quite the trek. My partner was particularly drawn in by the oversized roll with a variety of fish.Maybe I picked the wrong menu items, but overall not sure what the hype is about. The oversized roll is 30$+ so it’s not like it’s cheaper on a per serving basis. The fish was also so cold to the point where it hurt my teeth to eat (I do have sensitive teeth, but I’ve never had trouble with sushi before). Having so many different fish in a roll meant I couldn’t actually taste the individual flavors very well. I’m also not a fan of raw green onions paired with sushi. The other rolls also weren’t anything special. We got a scallop nigiri which was good tho.Overall probably won’t be driving an hour to come here again.

It's a mixed bag. The food was really good. Portions were generous. The price is a little high, but not unreasonably so. I have eaten at Toyoda's several times over the years and always enjoyed it a great deal. But the luster was a bit tarnished this time. First, the prices have goon up quite a bit but beer is served in a can with a warm plastic glass along side it. But ok, so what? Then the bill came. First, nothing is itemized. Just a final number with a dollar sign next to it. Okay, the amount seemed in line. I put my credit card down and was told credit cards are not accepted. I did have an expired Venmo app that I updated and managed to pay, but what if I didn't have that? Venmo, checks or cash. And here is the part that still bugs me: when we got up to leave, the owner opened up the folder with the check in it, saw no money, and asked how we paid. I told her Venmo. She then said, without a smile, "what is your name?" I told her. She then checked for digital payments and said "thank you" and turned away. No smile. No eye contact. I checked on the way out if I had missed a sign that said "No Credit Cards", but there was no sign. Maybe by the cash register? Somewhere in the menu? I don't know. But it felt very unfriendly. I have a decades long history with this place, and it saddens me that I was treated this way.

We came here on a Thursday right around dinner time at 6pm and could get seated right away. A queue started forming shortly after, so I'd recommend arriving before 6! The restaurant has a cozy, casual Japanese vibe. There is bar and table seating, but the restaurant isn't very big. REGULAR SASHIMI SET - 5/5 RAINBOW FUTOMAKI -5/5 SUSHI SET - 3.5/5 The sashimi quality was amazing. I definitely overestimated how much we could eat, because the sashimi set was huge! We ordered the regular sashimi set - although pricy, there was so much variety and the fish was really fresh and sweet. The rainbow futomaki also tasted amazing. The roll was packed with mixed sashimi fish making every bite enjoyable. I didn't enjoy the sushi set as much - while the spicy tuna roll was good, the nigiri tasted okay. Sharing these 3 things among 3 people was more than enough and we had leftovers. Service was okay. It was odd that they only accepted payment via Venmo or Zelle - no credit cards or cash. Although on the pricier end, I'd definitely come for the Sashimi set and rainbow futomaki!

I've been waiting months to try this place and it's bomb! From the service to the melt in your mouth sushi. I was literally blown away by this place. The nigiris are huge and the lady helping us was so kind. My friend and I came here right as they were opening and yes there was a line. A lot bigger than I initially thought, service was VERY quick. The moment we sat down Kani salad and miso soup was brought to our table follow by seaweed salad. My friend and I decided to share the sushi assortment and add additional nigiri on the side. Fish was so fresh, literally everything I ate was amazing. Melt in your mouth. Ugh I'm already trying to make another visit here. I had ordered chu toro, yellow tail, yellow Jack and amaebi nigiri as well to share since they were two piece per order. The sweet lady bought us more sushi on the house and that was literally the sweetest gesture ever but we were both so stuffed half way through dinner haha. It sounds bad but we both didn't eat all day so we were just inhaling dinner as it came out. By the time we were done this place was packed and as it should be cus what a great place. I need one of these in West Seattle. I hate that all these places are so far away haha.

Food was good and filling. Service was HORRIBLE. We waited 20 minutes to be seated and as soon as we sat down the server was ready to take our order, as if she had told us where the menu was. We order, get our food and there was no checking up on our table of 2, only came by when we wanted our check. We payed and were told tip was not included in the final price (which we had to Zelle, there are no card or cash transactions) and when we didn't tip the server asked us three times if we were not giving her a tip and was very rude with her tone. Embarrassing and unprofessional. Had she done anything even bare minimum we would've tipped.

By far the best sushi in Seattle. The quality and quantity is unmatched I've been coming here since I was 3 years old and am now 27.
