This was one of the first bars I ever went to in Seattle back in the day and while some things have changed, the whimsy of the Unicorn remains. The food was the best kind to pair with a lot of drinking with wonderfully breaded strips and fries and the staff were understanding, welcoming and willing to cut off people if they got too rowdy or belligerent. I keep coming back for the entertainment and I stay for the community.Parking: Good luck finding decent parking on Cap Hill. Take the light Rail and walk if you can help it.

Very cool Bar in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle. Their themed cocktails were fun and sweet without being too sweet. The atmosphere of the bar is just beautiful. Laura, the bartender, was really nice and chit chatted with us a bit before she got busy. Downstairs are pinball machines, a photo booth and a claw machine(which is kind of a scam because all the things are really packed in there). Overall, very fun experience.

My friends and I were here last night and we got assaulted by one of their security guards. I will be pressing charges. I have bruising on my wrist and arm from how roughly they grabbed me. When I tried to tell my friends that I was fine and we could just leave they pushed my friend down the stairs. Keep in mind we were not drunk. I've contacted the security company and supervisor. We also saw reviews on Yelp of other women from last night at Unicorn who also got assaulted by a security guard. I imagine it was probably the same one. They have some sort of superiority complex and think it's okay assaulting people because they're in a position of power. Unicorn is already not the best bar in Seattle and gimmicky and fun to bring people from out of state or town but I if they're okay bringing people like that into their establishment then I hope them nothing but the worst.
Me and my friends were harassed by a security guard who screamed in our faces for using the bathroom together when we were unaware of this rule. When the security guard entered the bathroom and knocked on our stall door- she did not announce herself as an employee. We believed that she was an intoxicated patron demanding we leave the restroom- and it was extremely awkward so we waited a moment and joked around together in the stall- thinking the banging outside was from a random girl. We were waiting for our friend to finish using the bathroom when we left the stall- it did take her a moment- but we did not want to violate her privacy by opening the stall before she was ready. However, upon leaving, the security guard screamed in our ears about how we disrespected her by taking too long. When I say she screamed- I am not over exaggerating. She got in our faces and yelled at the top of her lungs how we were disrespecting her. It was extremely unprofessional and threatening. She slammed the bathroom door in our faces and told additional staff we were not allowed in again despite us apologizing for our unknowing violation of this rule. I feel deeply uncomfortable with this treatment- and really saddened that the Unicorn would hire a person that would make patrons feel so uncomfortable. There is no excuse for yelling at clientele in that extreme of a manner and exerting anger towards people simply using a bathroom. We weren't intending to offend the staff- we simply did not want to open the door to the stall when our friend was actively using the restroom. Please- reconsider who you hire and understand they shouldn't threaten customers.

I last visited with my Grandma and a drag gameshow was happening about 10 years ago. When visiting this time, someone was checking the front of IDs on a Sunday evening. I happened to be there for a 21st birthday party.The bartender was super nice and made a wonderful drink for the birthday girl. Creative drinks and food. The outside is hard to spot, because no lights were on. Parking is atrocious, recommend rideshare or walking.
