Very unprofessional and very unorganized. Help them bring in 700 tons of fish. Was processor and deckhand. Different people with bad temperments and sore egos. Put in multiple different situations where my health and safety were put in jeopardy because different people didnt feel like doing the job. I'm still waiting to get paid for my work and time.

One of the worse companies to work for !

I’m just hoping I get a chance to prove what I can do with this company of any one that wants to give me a shot I’ve been in this business for 2 1/2 years now on land plants and I just need to get on boat and try my luck there

Very unprofessional I applied as a deckhand and gave me an interview for processor. Next time do not post a position such as d3ckhand and sign me up for processing. I've been in the fishing industry since 2016 I have experience as a deckhand and have credentials. You will not rob me over crew share on those 16hour shifts that's ridiculous the stunt you pulled on indeed. And what company gives you an orientation before hiring you like that's very unprofessional you might aswell quit wasting people valuable time some of us already know what we are signing up for aka Deckhand not processor. Indeed do not let these company ever post anymore positions due to incorrect information.

So good company to work for

There was a covid-19 outbreak on the seafreeze America in March of 2021. This outbreak was not reported to health officials and the COO of the company lied outright about the timeliness of reporting in a news article published after arriving in Dutch Harbor. Quarantine protocols were not followed according to Alaska state guidelines.Furthermore, the crew was kept at sea during the worst part of the outbreak and lied to by the captain, first mate and the factory manager about both conditions regarding those that tested positive and how it was being communicated to the alaska health department and HR based in Seattle, WA. While voicing concerns to the captain and the first mate regarding the safety of sailors on board, I personally was treated with scorn, foul language and disdain.Only once we returned to port, at the direction of the United States Coast Guard, were protocols followed. And only to the barest of minimums. The hotel in Anchorage we were quarantined in afterwards received no notice of over forty positive cases arriving in their care on April 10th 2021 leading to many problems with both management and security posted on the premises.Overall, I would not recommend this company. Truthfulness and safety are seemingly not something that they are concerned with.

Tessa has been very helpful. Getting good vibes from this company already. Hopefully I’ll get hired. Some papers are still pending. But, will see what’s up. I know people that works here that are happy with there pay here. So, kinda looking forward to working on one of there vessel so I can make some money.

I once thought this was a good company to work for but the pay is not worth the hard work. Great people to work around but the leadership is selfish and disregards our safety and injuries. The company takes out living expenses for everything possible out your paycheck. We pay for wifi out our checks yet the captain refuses to turn it on. The captain aboard the legacy makes it a big issue if you call home and favors the "white guys" on board. As for the food aboard the legacy. The food is trash. I often would get off shift after long days and there would be NO food left and no one to cook more. So I would be left stuck eating a cold left over break sandwich. This boat was also at one time infested with bedbugs and at that time was a terrible time to work on this boat. I can go on but you get the point. Don't waste your time.

DO NOT WORK AT THIS COMPANY!According to the FLSA all workers in America must be paid a minimum wage except those at sea. Doing this job you will be paid a commission. They will hype it up but if you really see what you make it adds to about $4-6/hr.

Welp, if you happen to think this pays well you're right. But, that is only after 16hrs of manual labor with less then 6hrs of sleep on average for 2 months. Not to mention the huge expense of gear and items needed for life at sea coming out of your paycheck. Then if you break contract they take flight expenses on top of that. If you value your safety, health, and free will I would say really give this a second thought before signing that contract. I'm surprised more posts don't discuss these issues. I was put on their oldest ship so maybe my first time was unique to most. But, nothing about my experience was worth it in my opinion. Accept of course meeting interesting people and just adapting to life at sea. Considering the amount of time and energy I put in does make my paycheck a bit insulting. Did I mention that the fish at the end of my second trip had literally tons of fish contaminated with sewage water and thusly couldn't be put up for market? Meaning money out of our shares..
