Visited Royal Unicorn many times in the past and was left disappointed. However, decided to give it another try after hearing that it was under new ownership and wow this place has to be the best Chinese food I have ever had in Seattle!!! I got the Mongolian Beef, Mayo Tofu, and Hot and Spicy Spareribs. The Mongolian Beef was very tender, and the sauce on all the onions and the beef was delicious. The Mapo Tofu paired nicely with the rice I got and had a nice kick. And the Hot and Spicy Spareribs were addicting... Would definitely come again to satisfy my cravings and to try more of their food.

This place is under new management. The menu has been cut down, possibly to give them a chance to get a feel for the neighborhood. Ordered broccoli beef and pork fried rice to go, good dishes! I saw they offered dim sum but when I asked for serving times I was told dim sum is just a limited offering right now during business hours. Possibly a formal dim sum in the future? Nice to have in the neighborhood!

What a wonderful meal and service this evening. Huge turnaround from what it became over the years. Cleanest Chinese restaurant I've been in. Steamed pork buns, hot and sour soup, pork chow mien!! Mongolian beef also Excellent!! I had to order the shrimp egg foo young as it was our favorite back in the day (80's). It was a bit different but delicious. I will most certainly return from South Everett.

I ordered several dishes for take-out & SPECIFICALLY said NO ONIONS in any of the dishes; said it more than just once. I added that I am DEATHLY allergic to onions; they will make me VERY sick. Got home & EVERY dish was FULL of onions. By the time I fished out all that poison, I had to heat it in the microwave & almost 1/2 of the food was onions. The food left, after removing the onions was mediocre at best. I will never order from this place again. They either don't listen or don't care.

We ate there last night not having been there for the last fifteen or so years. The food was delicious and a full meal for $20 was wonderful ( actually left overs will cover two lunches) ! The background music was just right and Jasmine, our server, was right on top of all in the room . Good experience and we won’t wait fifteen years to return!

Very good American Chinese food. The combo deals are inexpensive and the rest of the menu has all the usual favorites. Clean, friendly, well lit, plenty of parking.

New ownership, the restaurant and bar are so clean!Great food, I started eating so fast, I completely forgot to take pictures. They have a "Specials" menu- we ordered the pork buns and shu mai- both very good and good size.We also ordered:Hot and Spicy pork ribs- these are slightly breaded and tossed in a sauce similar to General TsaoSesame Beef- the beef was tender and flavorful, served on a bed of glass noodles with green onionsMapo Tofu- which has a nice spicy kick.Everything was fantastic, I'll definitely come back!I can't wait to try more off the menu.We sat in the bar to watch football, it was awesome.

Great experience eating at Royal Unicorn! I had the spicy ginger shrimp and they were amazing. The perfect combination of spicy and savory flavors. The bartender and servers are so nice and make the dining experience more enjoyable. I’ll be back for sure!

I’ve been waiting to try this place for a long time. Finally got to order from here at least twice in the last two months. Food was great, taste fresh, service was nice, place is freshly remodeled and looks nice and clean inside.

This has vastly improved with the new owners/chef, however, make no mistake it is Chinese food for white people.Their family style meals are a good value and they give you a family size bowl of soup with allows even two people to have a couple of bowls of soup.Their menu has all the classics you'll remember from the 60's. Their Almond chicken was fried crisp and fresh and the gravy was good, albeit a tad bland. It could use a little more salt or chicken bullion. The mongolian beef appear to texturally be fried the correct way and the sauce was again a tad bland. And no spice, usually Mongolian beef is a bit spicy. The only improvements I would like to see are a little more flavor in the sauces, a little more heat (literally - we were in a deep freeze at the time) and maybe some Chinese contemporary music. Oh and it would be great if the tables had salt/pepper, soy sauce and some chinese hot sauce, super bonus if they had the crunchy style! This is my new go to Chinese spot in my local neighborhood!
