Found this place on accident while in town for a conference. I wandered in out of the rain just past closing. Since the pizza oven was still on, thought, they offered to make one to go. I got the cacio e peppe and was glad to have it. Friendly staff, tasty pizza, and a cool space that I'd be excited to go back to if I'm in Spokane again. A+

Worst service ever. Took 10 minutes just to get seated when there was hardly anyone around. Server looked annoyed we were even here. Just wanted to get drinks. Ended up leaving.

Had a friend that worked here for not long. His paycheck tips were always being stolen and his check amounts were never matching the hours he had put in. They questioned the person responsible and never took any action about it. His last paycheck before he quit, he had 1/4 of the hours he was supposed to have. Plus nearly I would go in,, one of the servers would be drinking heavily and still serving others and also would be causing fights between other workers. Food is great, but not the best environment due to worker conflict just seems untrustworthy and sketchy as heck for someone to work there.

This is the most frustrating dining experience I’ve ever had. Clearly, the kitchen and waitstaff were understaffed and trying their hardest, but this place is not it. There is no place to park anywhere for you to eat here. We made a reservation, as was recommended and we were there for three hours total (not by choice). Our appetizers didn’t come out until an hour after we ordered. After being reassured, “just a few more minutes”, our entrees came out an hour later. On top of this, the food was very expensive for measly portions. Taste was only okay for how much you’re paying. This was the one meal I was able to enjoy for restaurant week and it was so disappointing. The best thing I had was the beer (made by someone else and they charged me $9 for it).

Outsider has easily become one of our favorite Spokane restaurants. The food is always spectacular. We particularly appreciated learning about Chef’s food procurement and sourcing philosophy. It just aligned with our thoughts on sustainability and proper treatment of animal and vegetable. Go visit. You will not be disappointed.

Disappointing. Upon walking into the restaurant there was no sense of an identity. What kind of restaurant is this? The menu also lacks an identity. Pizza place? Hamburger place? Pizza and burgers were tasteless. We had a wonderful waitress. Prices on the web were significantly lower. Not a good beginning to our evening.

We were a group of four with a 5:30 reservation ahead of a 7:30 concert across the street. We were on time for the reservation and were seated immediately. So far so good! We noticed there was one large group already there (maybe eight people?) but on either side of us there were groups of four. The restaurant is pretty small, so even though it was full, there weren't a lot of people. The tables next to us were already eating their meals so we peaked to see show things looked. But after about 15 minutes passed, we still hadn't even had our drink orders taken. We also noticed we had been given lunch menus, so we flagged down a server to ask about the menus and to get our drink orders in. The server came back and said we could order from the lunch menu, but we said we just wanted to make sure we were getting to see everything available and she said yes, it's basically the same menu. We received our drinks half an hour after being seated. The Basil Bee was great, all the things I like, Gin, honey, lemon, basil - very nice. My husband had a ginger beer, and our friends had a nice glass of Chardonnay and a good old fashioned. We ordered our meals, but found out two of us wanting the pastrami sandwich - which was on the lunch menu we were given - were out of luck, it was not available for dinner, so we both had to change quickly as our two hours was melting away. We still had an hour and a half before the concert across the street, but then after another thirty minutes went by, we just received our appetizer which was a small pizza with garlic and maybe a balsamic drizzle, our friend ordered it so I'm not sure exactly what was on it, but it was good and we wolfed it down. We waited another 30 minutes plus before our entrees arrived. We had thirty minutes to eat, pay, and run across the street. The beet and tangerine salad was fresh and delicious - what a great medley of flavors! The French Onion Soup was such a mess, it became a novelty trying to eat it at all. What I managed to get to was delicious, but it was too complicated with the little time we had left. My husband got the meatloaf and loved it, I snuck one bite and was jealous - he cleaned his plate! One of our friends had a delicious grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup which they did make sure was still available off the lunch menu. Our other friend got a pepperoni pizza (quick decision since no pastrami) and the crust was quite charred and had puffed up enough that all the toppings went to the middle and he really just ate the middle instead of the big ring of charred crust. This could be a really good place, but the service was so slow even for a simple group of four with a reservation two hours before our concert. If they can't turn over the tables a bit faster, I don't see how they will make enough money. I won't go back as a pre-event destination which is a shame because they are located to serve that kind of crowd. The servers we had were super nice and polite, unfortunately the entire experience was just too slow and we were late to the show.

Cool setting, great food. I love the pizza crust. Had a good salad, too. Cocktails and wine selection are solid. Would visit again!

SUPER good food, fantastic drinks and great vibe! Loved it and will definitely be back!Parking: I only wish they had more parking options nearby as most of the spots in the VERY small lot seem to be taken by the other building tenants. Had to walk a couple blocks to get there. Also hard to find any parking for restaurant when there are events at the Arena.
