There was literally no one inside the bar but the DJ still manned the turntables, the smoke machine still flowed, and the beats were defeaning. The bartender was the most stunning woman I'd seen in years, and magically appeared at my table (I sat outside) every time my drink my low to offer me a fresh one. Strange, alluring, enabling--everything I'd want from a night out in Tacoma, WA.

The waitress wasn't friendly, I was the only person at the restaurant at the time and she took like almost 5 minutes to attend to me. She never asked me whether I wanted to drink something as I waited for my order. A few minutes later, a couple with a baby came in. She served them immediately and asked them what they wanted to drink as they looked through the menu. I don't think I'll be going back again. I had lamb chops and ugali with a pathetic green salad..

Friendly staff. 1st time trying coco's food. Having the lamb kabobs. It's very tasty with just the right spices. Plus they have music starting Thursdays, reggae, Friday urban/African, Saturday Latin and Sundays Hip Hop. Will stop by again.

It's a great place, if you're white. Otherwise they make you wait while you watch people not of color come in, order and get served. My sister and I had terrible service from our own people and when we brought it up to the manager he completely denied everything. Should have listened to all the bad reviews

Came in just visiting and like to try new things plus Google said it was an African Restaurant and that's the only food we have not tried yet. We were greeted after we sat down and we ordered 2 starters. The fries and samosas before we ordered the rest of our food. The starters came out and our server left to give us time to decide... I want to believe. After 12 minutes we were looking and deciding if our server was on her way back to tend to our table since we were the only guests there only to find her sitting down and eating as well. I guess she was on her break. We finished our starters, paid, leaving a tip and left. The food was delicious and flavorful. If only we were attended to we would return and bring others with us. It was good to try though.Parking: We were the only guests at the time so there were plenty of space left.

Ordered via Doordash, did not receive 2/3 of the order. Called resturant and was rudely told that they stopped on line orders because they are busy. So they did not complete the order. No grape leaves,No hummus,No lamb protein on salad,No tzatziki.Yet they took payment for the food order.Door dash did a partial refund. Very unsatisfactory.

Very disappointed, nothing like the website. I ordered the fish & chips. I find it difficult to believe the fish was hand breaded in Mediterranean spices as it had no flavor & appears to just have be frozen. Supposed to come with a salad it didn't & regular fries not waffle fries. My friend ordered the Greek salad, quite small, similar to a side salad size. In spite of being two of three people in the restaurant our order took forever. How long does it take to put prepped lettuce in a bowl & we both had to ask for silverware. Very cold and spartan atmosphere.

I enjoyed my visit here. I ordered a the Coco Special Gyro, which has Lamb, fries and tzatziki inside. Tasty. Dishes are typically served with rice but we were offered to sub in fries, which I appreciated. Other reviews have been quite harsh in their reviews of the food, but I actually think the gyros, at least, are above average in the flavor department. My server was also very nice and had a distinctive sense of humor, which I enjoyed. Some have said the wait for the food can be extensive, but my experience was about the same as many other Mediterranean places I’ve been to.The real issue comes down to atmosphere. Other reviews mentioned the loudness of the music, which was somewhat true, but I felt the main issue with it the atmosphere was it felt closer to a kind of warehouse space, with concrete floors and not much in the way of decoration. When I was there, they were using a propane heater to heat the space, which I have read can pose a carbon monoxide risk. That’s somewhat of a nitpick, however.Overall, I would say if you’re in the area, give them a shot!
