Our first experience here was good at the restaurant. We live nearby and thought we would be coming here often. The food was decent, but I met the owner at the farmers market one day and he was extremely rude to me. My two year old and I walked up to him. He said "Hello" and I and asked for a Margherita pizza please. He then leaned in and shushed me and got about an inch from my face when he did so. And then turned around like I was disturbing him to talk to another employee. I was kind of shocked and still ordered from him, but really wished I hadn't. If I could go back I would have walked away then. While I was waiting for my pizza, another woman came up and ordered and he rudely started criticizing her for asking for no tomatoes on her pizza. She looked uncomfortable too after ordering, and I think we both were wishing we hadn't ordered food from him. It was bizarre behavior and judging by some of the reviews below from other women it seems like this is typical. Not sure if the problem is just with his treatment of women or if this is an anger issue, but respect and kindness is important. I won't be supporting this business.

I love the vibe of this place. I’ve rarely seen anyone so happy to be at work as the chef, and you can tell he pours his heart into the food he makes. The food was awesome, fresh and homemade. Definitely going to be back for more!

What a unique and wonderful place gotten away in the proctor district!

Pretty much average Italian restaurant. Food was just okay.

My friends and I have never tried Europa and was curious to try. We walked in and asked if they had a table for 4. They man at the bar said "certainly...just give us a few minutes to clear, and clean it. We watched the table get cleared and cleaned and was waiting for someone to either escort us to the table or point to us, or wave us over or something...nothing. The wait staff walked by us several times...no eye contact, no head nod, no asking if we had been helped...nothing. I tried to wave one down and they just walked on. My friends and I are big men...we're pretty noticeable. After my 2nd failed attempt to get attention from the waiting staff...we just turned around and left. Europa may have great food, and may be an awesome place to eat, but it's staff is dismissive and inattentive.

I don't recommend ordering lasagna at all because it wasn't edible and the waiter was rude when we asked for straws .

I was able to have stopped by Europa bistro recently for dinner on a Friday night. To start things off the wait was not bad at all, the staff that originally met me and my family at the front door was courteous and patient. This to me, was the end of the positive portion of my experience here. I understand most restaurants are having staffing problems due to Covid, patron seating is often restricted as well, to me, they should be proportionately related and make it seem like the coverage is adequate? It seemed to take a decent amount of time to receive an initial round of bread, And everybody's initial drinks, primarily waters. The bread when It came out was what I can only describe as crouton size cuts of bread. Upon asking for additional bread, five individual slices were brought out with five people in our party, this seems stingy to me, and almost wasn't worth it been brought out in the first place. My meal itself was pretty solid, in the primary reason for Three stars instead of a lower rating. I got the Linguini with Bolognese And it was decent. I didn't actually care for the flavor of their sauce here, a bit more acidic than I like. Everybody else seemed OK with their meal, I tdidn't create the excitement that would make you wanna return here anytime soon. I love trying out new places and mining All the different gems That exist outside the national chains. I'm glad to have tried someplace new, but for me this is a place that I likely wouldn't return to anytime soon, it just wasn't the experience I was looking for.

So delicious. The ambiance is something between cool west coast hang out and Italian family home. I had zucchini fritti which was not breaded to my delight. Served sizzling hot with perfect crostini and a bit of goat cheese. The duck salad was all my favorite things in a bowl. The service was friendly and efficient but a bit lacking in polish.

Food was disappointing and I was questioned multiple times why I don't like unsalted/ underdone food before they took it back
