There are not a lot of sushi restaurants in Tacoma, and of those I know of, they tend to think they're in Seattle and it's okay to charge $20 a roll, or competing with gas stations to make you nervous, this place is the exception. It's affordable, not pretentious, cute interior with pretty solid sushi, (I stick with the veggie options but my friends have all enjoyed the fish, so second hand account on the actual sushi)If you live in the area and want sushi, I definitely recommend it, for whatever that's worth :)P.S. I'm grading this a bit on a curve due to the other options I've had, but it's a review so definitely biased in some way or another.

If you are looking for Japanese sushi this is the place to go. Nothing wrong with other locations necessarly but Kazu is a sushi chef from Japan and learned the art of sushi in Japan. Be patient it is a family owned resturant and if it gets busy it may take a extra min to get your food. Definitely worth the wait. Very inviting interior.

Had a great experience and will be returning. Had the salmon sashimi with cilantro and jalapeno, miso soup, and spicy rainbow roll. My partner had the opie (spelling?) roll and a veggie rolls. 5/5 on the food, and we ordered the perfect amount. Service was good, and the place feels authentic versus a hyped-up high-end fushion-gentrified sushi option (we are glad we came here instead of going to a gentrified establishment downtown). The dining room was full, but, since there were only four tables they were all spaced well apart, so we felt like we had plenty of space and privacy.Vegetarian options: Plenty of interesting veggie rolls if fish isn't your thing.

Best sushi and prices in Tacoma. Hours are strange but the food never disappoints. Love the atmosphere and the staff are very friendly.

Probably the best sushi in town. I hate their limited hours, but I get it.

It was alright... Kind of a let down from all the raving about it on Reddit. I was disappointed. The fish did not taste fresh at all, like it had been sitting out for a very, very long time (extremely fishy). Nothing tasted fresh. It was very obvious there was zero passion in the kitchen.
