Our first time here, the one thing I would do differently is to come here before dark. The view is excellent, and at night it is still elegant, I just suspect it is much better at day time. The food is excellent, the service absolutely first rate. Free parking is probably worth mentioning but by far the food, service and view is why you come here and they don't disappoint.

I REALLY miss coming here! They always have a seasonal coffee cake and lovely staff. In the summer they have a live band on the patio that plays covers. Food and service is always excellent. Come back!!!

My husband and I love Johnnys Dock restaurant & Marina. Excellent food each time we dine there, which is a lot, and the service is also excellent. Few places around where you can order Prime Rib with a baked potato with all the fixings. Love the remodel and everything about it. Can hardly wait until it reopens from the COVID, hopefully soon.

This is an Old Time restaurant that's been around since the dawn of time. Down on the mud flats in Tacoma and has an interesting with a view. I give it four instead of three stars it because I really adore their brand of seasoning salt which is marketed over most of the West Coast. Is definitely unique and better than all others. The food at the restaurant is your average seafood and steak. Keep in mind then got another restaurant over a fight that isn't quite as good and reminds me of a scaled-up Denny's. But this place is worth a visit just to say you been there.

shot. I watched the sous Chef pick up fish, salmon specifically that was accidentally dropped on the floor, rinse it and plate it for a guest. The sous chef also doesn't use spoons when tasting food while he cooks, he uses his fingers. You guys also spend so much for beautiful scallops only to cook them on a flattop. Is that because your kitchen manager doesn't know how to implement a restaurant menu that his highly under trained staff can execute...yes. But why make food thats simple a delicious when you can f*** up fancy and charge more and have no business. Valentines day was the indication. Other places so busy, this place next to dead....just because your next to water, doesn't mean you should make food outside your purview of expertise. The managers here should focus on patty melts, not filets mignon.

I went to Johnny's Dock a couple weeks ago for a lunch meeting for work. The menu was simple, but robust. I had the seafood linguine and was satisfied by the larger than average portion. The meal was a bit heavy for the time of day, but the quality was definitely there. The views are superb and the natural light is wonderful as well. It was a bit spendy, but if you are looking for something special or semi-formal, Johnny's Dock is a great option.

Over the last 30 years my family and I, as well as other outings with friends, have enjoyed the restaurant very much. In fact, the waitress that we had last night is the very same that we've had multiple times over these decades. We had never been disappointed with any of the elements of this restaurant until last night. I first will say, that the service and the food lived up to previous quality and within those two parameters we were not disappointed. What we were disappointed in was this- Shortly after having been seated, a family with two children were seated right next to my wife and I. Having raised four children and having grandchildren of my own, I realize that children will be children regardless of the environment they're in. But the business model for customer service with this type a restaurant should not provide for the encouragement of normal child rambunctiousness llwhich would interfere with the fine dining experience of another couple. The unfortunate circumstances of our evening were brought about due to management feeling that having a magician that randomly walks the floor and offers patrons tricks and entertainment somehow fits their business model and is conducive to this type of ambiance. I believe they are incorrect in their assumption. While sitting at our table, the back of my chair was kick no less than 30 times and at one point, my wife and I literally had to move our table slightly out of the way of the children, as to keep my chair from being kicked. This is not a reflection on their parents or on the children but rather reflects on the management who encouraged an environment that would bring the children to this level of excitement and rambunctiousness. Too, I love hearing the laughing and giggling of young voices. But situational behavioral awareness dictates that given whatever environment we're in, we should respect that norm. Children do not have the ability to necessarily self-regulate different behaviors based on different environments. It is the responsibility of Johnny's restaurant, to all of its patrons, to provide the best it can in customer service. Upon paying our check, we brought our concerns to our waitress who then forwarded those concerns to management. As a condolence for our experience, the manager approved her to comp us an appetizer. In all, our drinks appetizers and meal came to nearly $150. To have been offered such an insulting compensation for what we experienced speaks even louder to the mismanagement of this restaurant than does allowing a magician to perform acts and promote his own company during a customers personal dining time.

Great food, great service! The menu offered a wide variety of selections and our group enjoyed sampling beef, fish and shellfish dishes. Everyone was very pleased. The clam chowder was a favorite with all.

Our favorite restaurant! Best clam chowder and fish and chips in the state!
