The food here is insulting, I tip n spend almost 20 bucks for a personal meal for what?? Cold food. Ive came here quite a few times when in need of a warm meal n they can't even do that. Been a while since I'd been here and won't be back. Worst quality meat n overcooked as well no worse teriyaki out

Expensive, the food is good but their pretty high strung for a place with their dumpster right outside the front

We didn't order online because we weren't sure if the price was higher - turns out ordering online gets you free stuff! We'll try that next time. Honestly, came all the way from Lakewood to Tacoma to pick up because they were the only Teriyaki & Sushi restaurant with decent reviews in even a relative radius that is OPEN CHRISTMAS DAY! We are so grateful. We prefer to order food and over-tip than cook ourselves on this crazy day. We budget for it every year! Inside, you'll find modern decor and semi-loud, very upbeat music that fits their name of "Joy" ... it's clean and open, while cute and cozy at the same time. We came here today out of necessity but will return based on a great experience. I will update once we have gotten our food home and eaten. :)

Great place atmosphere and everything customer service was amazing but honestly the food portions was awful for take out they use small containers, if I’m paying 16 for orange chicken I would expect a bigger serving size. First time there and last for sure. Not their fault but owners.

Used to go here all the time and loved it, i guess after reading comments its changed a lot. I just paid 18 bucks for a yakisoba that was half as large as it should have been. Very disappointing proportions.

Everyone i talk to about food says "joy fell off" they say,"its not like it used to be" "every since they got the new location its be lacking." And i should have listened. I prdered curry chicken katsu and fried rice. The rice tasted like they used old, dirty oil to fry it and the curry tasted like there was nothing in it but black pepper and it was so watery. They get a star for cooking the chicken well, but it was the only edible thing in my entire order. Very sad. I hope they're not serving everyone the way they served me.

I've tried most Teriyaki places in Tacoma and I must say that this place is hands down the best so far. If you are a Chicken Teriyaki enjoyer like I am. I highly recommend you try it.

Mediocre food. Poor service. Charges $1 for a tiny cup of sauce. The only thing this place has going for them is their hours. Would not recommend.
