I have never been Meconis before last weekend but I’ll be back. I went in with a large group on a busy weekend, which is enough to peeve any server. But our server Maya was AMAZING. She was so attentive, personable and genuine. She made our night!

5 stars because Sara carries this bar. I have never come into this bar in last 6 plus years and not seen Sara behind the bar. Last night I came in and was having a great time with my friends until a huge brawl broke out, and the closest they had to security was Sara. In the future I will not be returning, because this bar is unsafe. I hope those poor girls that work there don't end up getting hurt

A guy we met that night threw up and the guy with the gages kicked out a bunch of people then snapped our pick at random and sent it to all the other bars. The guy who puked managed to get into the bar that wouldn't let us in.
Stopped in for a bite before a movie and had a really good meal! We have been here before but only for apps and drinks. I had the pub burger and garlic parm tots. And loved loved loved the tots! My husband had the fish and chips and thought it was perfect! Our server was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. It is pretty noisy but, then again, it is more bar than restaurant so I expected that. Next time I would like to order some apps and drinks and sit in the window the people watch.

What a neat place! It's right in Pacific Avenue in the heart of downtown Tacoma but it's kind of tucked away.. I frequent the area but never realized what a gem this place was! The staff is welcoming, friendly, helpful, and efficient! The inside is so cozy and warm and there is a game room in the back! They have darts, a golf game, air hockey, and a pool table Their beer selection is decent and their menu is the perfect size - there are a handful of options for each category (burgers, sandwiches, apps, and tacos). I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and side of potato salad and let me tell you: the burger was so good! Very worth it. And the potato salad was so good I almost ordered a huge tub of it to go - it's homemade with chunks of potato in it and all the right seasonings. I will make my way back to Meconi's as much as I can thank you!

I worked for these guys for 2 days as a cook, they told me in the interview how everyone quits in a week and I see why. I walked out on my second day and they refuse to pay me or even did paperwork so they got a free days worth of actual professional cooking because the other cook isn’t a cook and can’t do his job.

TL:DR - A wonderful stop with history. Take the time and help them open earlier post pandemic.A good friend of mine took me here nearly ten years ago. It is the same and it is still worthwhile. Good sandwiches and good prices. Good atmosphere and good people. Give it the time if you hate corporate nonsense like Steel Creek.
