Due to there not being a lot of banquet options in the Tacoma area, we’ve been forced to do our events at Stanley & Seaforts +/- eight times this year. Thankfully, we will not have to be coming back here. The banquet service & management has made us feel unwanted and inconvenient. The food is ok, sometimes. The desserts are definitely not fresh or worth the price. This is the ONLY restaurant that throws the “newbies” into a banquet. They have a minimum that is unobtainable with the maximum number of people eatting a 3 course meal. Now, after multiple banquets we are being told they will not allow us to take meals home to cover the remainder of the charge. ($300)

We love the old fashioned vibe. Fantastic date night venue. The view of the sunset over Puget Sound, five stars. The city lights twinkling as the sky darkens, six stars. Would probably return for drinks and a plate to share. Here's the food review dish by dish.Coconut shrimp had too much fried flavor and not really any coconut flavor. The sauce was good. Would not recommend.Caesar salad had too much dressing, but the lettuce was fresh and the taste was great. Next time I'll ask for half as much dressing as usual. My husband had the chowder he didn't share, so that's a good sign. He liked the bacon in it.Shrimp and crab fettuccine: buttery shrimp, perfectly cooked noodles, excellent sauce. Loved it.Salmon served with rice and vegetables. Fantastic salmon moist and flavorful, perfectly cooked. Rice and veggies ho hum and a little over done.Molten lava "cake." Weird rubbery texture. We asked about it and our server got defensive. Gross.Zero warm and fuzzies from our server. She was obviously not a local. We hope she learns how to breathe and smile. There is a lot to love here.

My husband and my stepson felt over dressed compared to how people used to dress up when going there. The gap in between our 3 course meals was like dial-up internet. The food, you can tell was not made in-house. Such as: the desserts. My husband and I think it needs to be on Restaurant Impossible.

Delicious food! Didn’t know about added percentage on life tax?? Little confusing if this was to be the restaurant’s way to makeup for the higher rates, for wait staff, or additional taxes the State of Wa., added to the businesses.Wheelchair accessibility: Husband has limited walking ability, but with hand rails, he made the stairs, about four of them, up and down. He uses a walker full time. If wheelchair was used, the top deck would be fine, for usage. Full house the night we were there. The staff was fabulous!!

Completely disappointed.I had to send my food back 3 times because the eggs were gelatinous.I had to keep asking for the English muffin, I never did get the horseradish that was described on the menu. There was no attention to presentation. It looked like the food was just thrown onto the plate. For what should have been a fine dining experience, they missed the mark.

Not what it used to be! Worst dinner here I've ever had. Poor kitchen management, not sure how you are out of prime rib at 5pm when it's the one item you're known for and the star of your menu. Food was served cold, steak was dry, nothing was seasoned except the teriyaki tidbits which were incredibly salty. Caeser salad was basically watery lettuce with little dressing and 3 crouton crumbs. Horrible service, my husband had to go find the waitress to get our second appetizer that never came out because she never put the order in. Then also has to go to the bar for drink refills because our waitress was nowhere to be found for a good 30 minutes. With all the competition and better quality restaurants around the Tacoma area we won't be back here!!

The place was crowded the food was terrible for the prices and the restaurant's food was from a store not handmade the waiter failed to get our full order correct and the atmosphere was dry we paid $400 for a meal worth less than $50

The food and service was great, but I was incredibly surprised by the 3% 'living wage surcharge' said to "cover Tacoma's high minimum wage and associated costs". Since when did diners become responsible for a restaurant's operational costs? This isn't charity; it's a blatant attempt to shift financial burdens onto patrons. Dining out should be about enjoying good company and food, and shouldn't require subsidizing a business's inability to manage expenses. Why not just adjust prices directly instead of making diners feel like they're part of a financial balancing act?
