Bought a $100 gift card for my Father for Christmas. Can't wait for him to tell me about his first experience . My wife and I enjoyed individual flights last night, seated on the vintage looking green valour settee. The Bigger Bodies Reds. Each was amazing and it was a tough choice of which to choose for a glass. New World was the flight my wife enjoyed. Next I had a glass of the Blesoe. Two of our friend couples came so we became six. Each of them enjoyed a flight or glass. The staff was informative, super friendly and hospitable. We will certainly return, great meeting spot and The Spar is across the street;). The only suggestion is filtered water please as the water provided tasted to my wife & I like tap water.

Kelly & Rob have built one of the greatest wine resources in our area. They and their team are amazingly knowledgeable about all the wines they sell, and have a broad and diverse selection of whatever fits your meal, occasion or taste preferences. They have also done a great job for my company as we have sent professional and well appointed gifts to business colleagues and valued customers. Their prices are often also less than I receive as a club member for some of my wine clubs (yikes!)

A large variety of wines offered from around the world, great options for nibbles and a well designed shop/tasting room. Joined the wine club thanks to Lars!

I haven’t even been into the store yet, but I was able to rate them based on a call that I made. I spoke with a very knowledgeable Sommelier. I was trying to find a similar wine to the one my wife really likes and was given a few suggestions that worked out very well. Thank you again!

I visited today since it's my first time in Washington. Thank you so much for helping me select a couple small production local wines. This Domaine Magdalena Cab is stunningly good stuff. I so wish I could find this back home. What a great bottle. I'm looking forward to trying the Florence Cellars Roussanne before I go as well. Well done!

My wife and I love this place! The owners are super nice and explain the wines to us and they even let us try a few different wines that we didn't order. The selection of wines is massive and they even do a great charcuterie board and other snacks. If you are a wine lover, this is the place to go and great knowledge from the owners. Great atmosphere and we try to come here once a week!

I had the best experience! I went into the store for the first time today and they did not disappoint! I don’t remember the nice man’s name who helped me but he was so knowledgeable, I explained I wanted wines I haven’t tried before and he did not disappoint. He pointed out several lovely bottles perfect for summer and I’ve only tasted one so far but it is by far my newest favorite! I will definitely recommend to all my friends! This place is a hidden gem!

Awesome spot. Located in a happen’ spot, but able to find free parking right out front. They definitely know their wines but not snooty at all. The small bites were delicious and paired well with the wines. Could have spent the entire afternoon there!

Best wine shopping experience I have had to date. I came in with a list of wines and 3 staff members came to my assistance. One wine was out of stock and they offered to call me when it was back in stock.Staff was knowledgeable, attentive and even offered me a free tasting of a rhone valley white wine when I stated that I was not too familiar with whites. The prices were fair, service was prompt, selection well curated and the space was stylish.#1 wine merchant in Tacoma hands down.

Grumpy, aloof rude owner. Came here for the first time when they had recently opened. They still had boxes everywhere but understandable since they were still on their "soft opening". One of my friends (male, not that it matters) always carries a rather big bag. As we were leaving the owner made his way to the door and made a very tasteless "joke". He looked at my friend's bag and asked "did you just steal a bottle and put it in your bag?" And started laughing.... Like, what? I am all for supporting small businesses but this joke was a bit uncalled for. Recently I decided to give them another try (thinking his tasteless joke was just a stupid dad joke). My friend and I went and sat at the bar where he was drying glasses. Although it took a while to get helped, the taller guy behind the bar was very pleasant and went out of their way to find us a good wine. Meanwhile the owner never acknowledged us, as we sat he looked up, looked at us and turned away... Other patrons came and left and he talked to all of them except us, to all of them he said hello and thank but to ua not even a thank you for coming. Unless you want to be treated like a second class citizen dont bother coming here. Go to Wine Skins where the owner Cosette and her husband are a delightful welcoming couple and know what good customer service is.

UPDATE! Can't wait to visit this place again in their new location on 30th (they still have the previous location, but have added this new one in Old Town). Husband and I were driving by on our way home and I had to stop in once I saw it. Couldn't stay long since it was an unexpected visit, but WOW what a beautiful place! See pictures! I asked about the owner who I had mostly interacted with previously (I had wondered if he sold it?), but he's still there, which made me happy. They were very kind, letting me ask my questions and take my photos and they told me about all the new ways they've developed to help us explore and and enjoy wine. I mostly take pictures and am not good at the detail part and would be doing them a disservice if I tried to recount all their new offerings, but you should go! I will definitely be going! 7 Years Ago: I don't get in there very often, but I've been going to this wine shop since for about 10 years. I've never been disappointed. I recently discovered a really good wine at a local grocery store, but I had a hard time finding more of it to buy. I later heard that it was being discontinued. I mentioned this the last time were in Tacoma Wine Merchants and the owner was able to find a case and have it shipped to his shop. That went above and beyond and left me a very happy patron!

Rob and Kelly did an excellent job with our wine club at a recent meeting. They helped us pick out some great wines for an Iberian themed tasting and gave some interesting background on the individual wines and region. Very reasonable price and excellent presentation. Their new space is excellent for events, and just for stopping by.
