A must in PDC! Fun environment, not fancy at all so don’t worry about eating tacos and sweat at the same time. Super fast service with delicious food and fair prices. Too bad I found this place on my last day, otherwise, would definitely go back.

Literally the best place to get tacos in this area, I’m very sad that they are now permanently closed at this location, I have tried 3 other places to get tacos and nothing will satisfy my taco cravings. If anyone knows if they’re reopening at another location please let me know! It would be greatly appreciated.

I really like a good burrito, and I try to eat burritos all over town. This place has the best vegetarian burrito in Tacoma, hands down! They have a fantastic mix of veggies beans and cheese and then they seal the burrito with a little bit of fried cheese and it's SO GOOD.Do your self a favor and get some, this place is amazing.

This is the best place ever! The steak is grilled on an open flame. It's so tender and juicy, you don't even need to chew it! The chilaquiles are crispy and delicious, and you can top them with your choice of salsa or guacamole. If you're feeling a little indecisive, they have a taco bar where you can pick exactly what goes into your tacos. Their ingredients are all fresh, and they serve the food fast enough that it doesn't need to sit around getting cold while they wait for customers. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they're always smiling--even when someone asks for extra hot sauce!I'm not kidding: this place really is as good as it gets. You should definitely try it at least once if you live anywhere near it.

Solid breakfast burritos with different options to choose from. Massive size, good flavor, good service and better choices than the neighborhood and willing to make substitutions. Will return :)

We were in Playa Del Carmen for the day recently. While shopping on 5th Ave., we asked a local about the best restaurants, were that the locals liked to go, not the tourists. El Fogon was the first place mentioned, and was recommended for tacos. We were so happy we tried the place. Early afternoon, mid-week, just after the place opened, and the place was hopping, not just locals, we were obviously not the only turistas who had heard about the place, and there were many repeat diners. The staff was great, super friendly; service was perfect, attentive but not intrusive. We received the complimentary dish of salsas, radishes and limes, and we ordered guacamole to begin the meal. It was fantastic. We also sipped on top shelf massive margheritas, which were also terrific. For lunch we tried the sirloin taco and the "Taco Loco," both were delicious. The Taco Loco was a massive burrito with bacon on top, filled with all the various meats available on tacos. Awesomeness! All of the salsas were outstanding, but our favorite had to be the green super-hot salsa. The meal was great, easily a 5-star lunch in a neighborhood taqueria in PDC. Highly recommend!

Good authentic Mexican food in a lively place. Fast and friendly service. Very generous portions. Much better than many much more expensive restaurants that serve the tourist industry.

The enchiladas with chicken and mole were bussin', service was phenomenal, cash-only but gotta support local businesses amiright?Breaded chicken torta hit the spot with a jarritos.Coming back next time I come back thriftin' with my crunch granola.

Cash only, family owned, super fast service! The gentleman in the front is so sweet and nice, the chicken quesadilla was yummy but the hot sauce was hella spicy and the chicken was under seasoned. I have to come back to try their tacos as that's what they're known but so far if you're in the area give them a try! Keep in mind that they cook right behind the counter so you will leave the place smelling like food no matter what- this ambiance is what lost them a star bc I was going out after and def smelled like quesadillas for the rest of the day lol

We went to El Fogon after asking a hotel employee where would he take his family to eat in his days off. He recommended El Fogon and we are happy he did! The restaurant is very basic, but clean. At the time we went ( on a Tuesday evening during Covid) we were the only tourists and the place was full of locals. The menu is in Spanish only but the waiter translated it for us. The tacos and guacamole are to die for! Their margaritas are huge, and I mean huge and not watered down ( be careful loll). All in all, 2 adults and a teenager ate and had drinks , all for about $20. We cannot wait to go back in 2 months.
