This place is absolutely awesome! In a sea of corporate stores and basic options, you have a super unique café with lots of space to enjoy food and beverage. There is a lot going on and it all works. In one visit I bought gifts for my new nephew, had a great tea with mushroom powder added to it, hung with a group of friends at one of the many seating options, bought a post yoga snack and got a free drink card for spending a certain amount! This is my favorite local coffee spot in UP. As a former barista I care about quality. They serve Olympia Coffee, one of the best roasters in the country (they've won awards for micro roaster of the year, etc). What you get with high end coffee is often a snobby vibe. That's not the case at all at Happy Duo. The owner, Derek, remembers me and my kids by name. He's always throwing this nice little extras in for my girls, like their amazing mochi doughnuts (try them). Really thoughtful....read full review
