“Great food and really strong service effort. We had a little confusion over start time for our group, but they answered my distress call right away and communicated throughout. End of the day we had some great food and a couple of truly wonderful ladies to help set it all up and break it down. We'll use them again.“

“I've been here twice! First time was for dinner and I was craving some Lao food so thought we'd try it out. We got the big platter and had a variety of foods! The Papaya salad was spicy! Phew!!! It was good and spicy and thank goodness we had sticky rice with it. We had leftovers the next day. We also ate the Nam Khao, it was crispy and flavorful and the lettuce was so fresh! After that night I decided to host my private birthday party and rent out the restaurant. I had about 50 friends come and they catered the entire meal of 11 trays for a reasonable price and everyone left full and I got to bring home some leftovers. Everyone was commenting how good the food was and it was filling. Bonus is that they have a full bar and make great mixed drinks. I could put my playlist on youtube AND we got to karaoke and watch sports. They have cute photo op places for instagram pics and the staff and Ae the owner are friendly and helpful!“

“We didn’t know anything, just passing through, and we found Tara Thai on the internet. We got take-out and took it back to our hotel. We were totally delighted with the flavor and quality of the food, and the staff was very nice! Thank you!“

“The brother at Khao Niew told us to check out his sister's restaurant here- and here we are for dinner. Lemme tell y'all... This was my favorite restaurant we ate while we were in Portland for a week!!! The food is AMAZING, it's as authentic as it can get. The spice level, the flavor, the portion - just done right!!! The nam khao 5/5 - the crispiness with the nam was perfect- the portion was so big I couldn't finish it but omg, this was one of the best nam khao I've had. The khao piak 5/5 - my all time fav comfort food. The broth is amazing, the noodle makes the broth thicken up, put a little bit of chili oil to give it that "umph" ; just writing this review makes me crave for it again lol. The Lao Sample Platter for 2 consists of : papaya salad, sien savanh (heavenly lao jerky), lao sausage, soft boil egg, pork rinds, rice noodles and sticky rice.. we weren't going to order this but my fiance wanted to try everything and see if it meets up with his expectations.... And it sure did!!!! The papaya salad is spicy, that good spice that makes you want more- tip, put the vermicelli noodles in the papaya salad, trust me. The beef jerky was so crispy yet so tender, hard to explain but it was just done right. I love the fried meatballs, simple yet so good when you're eating it with sticky rice and papaya salad. The Lao sausage was my fiancé's favorite, he said it was just like home. The service was quick. You order at the counter first. They have a nice patio section too. They also sold beef jerky - the kind in the bags. We bought two of it lol All in all, amazing experience. We'll be back when we're visiting again!!!“

“I really liked this place. I really like it. However some of the spices are a little acquired and not always what you'll get when you're looking for Thai food, but in the end, I think that's OK and that that is also cool and what makes them unique. The ambience is nice, my friend really liked the touch of the hanging wisteria. Extra points because the space was open late. It was open past 11, so I was able to get there and dine late after an event. The service was good from both persons there. Solid 4.7 in my opinion. Which I think is quite good.“

“Absolutely fire food. I got the basil fried rice, pad Thai, crab rangoon, and Thai coffee. The staff were super kind and helpful, I got great service. I honestly haven’t had pad thai, crab Rangoon, or fried rice this good in years. I don’t live in the area and options for any type of Asian food are limited at home, so I often try new places when travelling. This place is getting saved in my bookmarks so I remember where it is next time I’m in town.“

“Deliciously cooked wings. Had the Nom Nom wings with our combo share plate. So saucy, juicy, yet crispy. You can really taste the homemade and love from the wings to the egg rolls to the sauces. Definitely excited to come back and explore the rest of the menu!“

“this place is pretty good, i always get the yellow curry however honestly when ever i get it the potatoes are huge and they really are not cooked all the way i could barely bite through them. idk who is back there cooking but maybe should mention that to them because i saw another review that said the same thing. other than that pretty good.“
