I love this place! Great ambiance and fancy enough place to take good friends. Food is solid, sometimes it's fantastic and sometimes it's just good. Service can be a little slow because it's so popular, but everyone is so nice! Worth the trip to vashon just to eat here.

Spent the day on Vashon visiting my partners family. Stopped in for dinner here. Ambiance - heavy curtains are put up to keep the restaurant dark and vibey. A lot of wood with some Thai touches all over, no complaints. Food - We started with the pork satay. The Pork was a little dry but the flavor was delicious. The sauce was amazing and even the cucumber salad on the side was a nice pairing and so refreshing. My partner ordered the pad see iew. She enjoyed it but said, it was nothing special and could have been spicier. I liked it. I had the PHAD PHED GAENG DANG which is basically a spicy curry with chicken. It was delicious, could have been spicier but overall the flavor was nice. Why 2 stars? Service. Just bad. We were seated right away and came just after opening. Took a minute for our waitress to come by, but when she did we gave our drink orders and needed to review the menu more. We didn't see her for 15 minutes and when she came back she still didn't have our drinks. We put in our order, about 30 MINUTES later we got our drink and appetizer. It took another 30-45 minutes for us to get our entrees. If you're keeping track, that's an HOUR+ from placing our order, to us getting our food. During this time we saw other tables seated, served and checked out, plenty of to-go orders going out the door while we were still waiting for our food. Not even a check in. Safe to say we won't be back. Horrible service.

Mays is the real deal. She imported rose wood and teak paneling from her native Thailand. The dishes are part of her heritage. The menu is an adventure and the servers are knowledgeable and very attentive. It's best to get reservations. Check the hours of operation. In my opinion in the top three Thai restaurants in the Seattle area.

We've been here several times and have never been disappointed. Everything we've ordered (and we've tried many dishes on the menu) has been fantastic and packed with flavor. And the service is wonderful as well. They do takeout, but order online in advance because the kitchen can only accommodate so many takeout orders a day.

Thai food that made me think of Thailand. Creative, delicious, fresh takes on the traditional menu. The flavors of the salad rolls sparkled with a perfect blend of crisp leaves, sweetness, lime, and spice. Spectacular! The attention to detail is fantastic, even the peanuts with the vegan massaman curry were fresh and crunchy. Yum! A pleasant buzz in the parlor-like interior with dark wood and pleasant lighting. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, and were passionate about the food.

Not really an expert on Thai food although I enjoy it very often, I found the food at May Kitchen to be on a whole different level as the food I usually enjoy. The pad Thai and the yellow curry beef dish were simply outstanding! Busy night but service good and the ambiance was a pinch weird but that was all cool with us. Very much recommend coming in for a taste of some incredible food!

The Thai food here is absolutely incredible. I've been here a few times and I've always been blown away. The inside of the restaurant is also really cool and a good place to sit down and eat.

I have had Thai food from many different restaurants around the IS, and this has got to be THE BEST I have ever had! The flavors are amazing and their presentation is unlike any other Thai place I have been to. Complete with banana leaves to keep your food warm! Can’t recommend this place enough!

The Woman Andrea. Extremely rude and non observant I had a order at 6:30 Tipped politely And when walking in I was ignored and ignored until someone was kind enough to let me say that I had a order at 6:30 for takeout After I let multiple people say their order and name. I can say a lot more but I'm just tiered. I live here on Vashon and. I service the community I'm well mannered and respectful I'm also just not full "African American" as people would say. My motherr survived the Khmer Rouge. Im also Thai, Japanese etc. I tired to speak to the owner by calling but I got the rude woman Andrea again. And it did t go well so I'm here writing this ahaaaaa

Very good food. Especially the Massaman. I wondered if it would live up to the hype. It did.

First time having Thai food. This place is a hidden gem. The front looks nondescript. But don’t be afraid, go in! The inside is romantic. It was a unique experience if you want to try something new. We even learned to eat mostly with our spoon. Our waitress showed us how to mix our Phad Thai (with chicken) properly. We had the Phad pak ruammit with shrimp and tofu (my favorite), Phad metmamuanghimmaphan with beef (my husbands favorite). The veggies in each dish were also perfect cooked. Our waitress was very sweet!

I've told people for YEARS that May Kitchen is the best Thai food on this side of the Pacific. Each dish is prepared with care from authentic family recipes with the occasional modern flair. Stop waste time and money eating elsewhere and get to Vashon for delicious Thai!
