I got their steak florentine cooked rare like they recommend and it was fantastic. You have to call ahead to see if they have them. We loved the desserts, the staff and the venue in general is good for enjoying dinner with friends.

Another reason to live in Yakima valley. Phenomenal barely scratched the surface of how good this is.

My review is in no way meant to harm this restaurant. Rather I hope the owner heeds my advice. We drove an hour to try Il grasso hoping to enjoy a fine dining experience. The setting is beautiful and this place could be a winner but it's not. Tables and seating are tiny patio casual and not comfortable. Food was served on "paper plates!" Honestly... paper plates including the soup. REALLY..!?! Wait staff was in no way professional or well trained...nice people but not what one would expect for the prices. Food was NOT good. The pasta was inedible. Served cold, drowning in oil and cheese. My guess was the chef has no idea how to cook Italian food. So salty I honestly couldn't eat it. The tenderloin served on top the pasta was cold. An ok cut of meat but served cold. The tomato soup was really good as was the bread. Sorry but this place needs to step up their game. I'll grasso could be something very special but it's not. Please try harder and learn to cook real Italian. Sorry this review is so negative but so was the food.

This is my second time at il grasso and, since my first experience was wonderful, I was excited to take my family there to celebrate a special occasion. It was NOT a stellar experience. I had the pasta with langostino (fresh water “lobster”). I paid $40 for a paper plate with about a dollar's worth of pasta and the lobster tail was still in the shell...which is fine except the tail was burnt and bits of it had broken into the pasta. Two grilled tomatoes on the vine accompanied the dish. The people are nice enough but it was grossly overpriced for what we received. After spending over $300 on a meal for 8 people we should at least not leave hungry. To order drinks, one must go inside the tasting room and order and pay separately because JBell winery handles the beverages. This also was no big deal other than they blew the keg on one beer, another tap was just pouring foam, and the cider keg froze up after three of us ordered ciders. So if you're not a wine drinker, it puts a damper on things. The ambience of the outdoor seating was the best part of the night. Like I said, the people were nice enough but you felt like you were putting them out by asking for a glass to pour the can of Sprite into, which one of us finally ordered since we couldn't order the beers or ciders we wanted. Not sure I could safely recommend il grasso without a warning. Kind of a bummer because I would have loved to give them a 5 star review. Would recommend Waterfire, Cowiche Canyon, or Whitstran Brewery as alternatives.

The food was amazing but unfortunately there was two large dogs running around, and apparently their "bed" was our seating which made for a weird type of dining experience- two wet dogs laying under our table and putting their paws on us. We could smell wet dog the whole time and we tried to get them to leave to no avail.

This place has food, atmosphere, and wine. What else do you need? The servers are top notch. The chefs are inspired. The atmosphere is nothing short of everything an estate winery promises surrounded by lavender fields. I can not recommend enough.

Il Grasso is always amazing. Delicious food. Beautiful atmosphere. Incredible service. Plus on your birthday they sing a beautiful Zambian song. If you haven't been you need to change that ASAP.

Visiting our daughter and decided to spend the weekend enjoying WA wine in Yakima. We were told about the restaurant by a worker at a local vineyard. Beautiful outdoor space. And the food was amazing. Our daughter is vegetarian and is used to having some challenges to ordering meals out. But she felt so special when the chef himself asked permission to create a meal specifically for her. Then he came out once it was delivered to the table and took the time to explain what he prepared and how his time in Italy and experience cooking there guided his decision. She has never felt more special in a restaurant!! This was the highlight of our day. Her meal as well as my husbands and mine were all amazing. My duck and his lobster were cooked perfectly and our pastas were incredible. We can't thank the man at the winery for recommending the restaurant but I want to thank the chef for taking time from his busy evening to make our daughter feel so special.

The Duck was to die for! Sooo good. Sat at the fire pit table - cozy. Service good. It is a bit different in that the food comes from the restaurant, but the wine comes from the winery at the same location. So you get separate bills from each. Also, if you're eating late be careful driving. It is very dark out there. Will definitely go back again and again.

Enjoyed the most beautiful setting with good friends, great wine and food and exceptional service. Loved that one of the chefs served us dessert and asked how everything was. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a unique setting and amazing food and wine.

Nestled among lavender fields and vineyards, Il Grasso and JBell are the perfect pair. The food was so yummy from start to finish. The focaccia bread, salad, halibut/tarter and lobster linguine were divine. You will not regret dinner out at Il Grasso and I would bet that other restaurants won't live up after eating here.

The ambience is nothing we've experienced in the yakima valley. It feels as if you've been transported to a little piece of Italy. Tables are nestled inside pear trees lit by fairy lights, we felt excited to see what the rest of the evening would bring. We were not disappointed. You do have to get up and get your drinks from the partnered JBell winery but the walk is short and the scenery and design of the building makes you forget the quick walk. Drinks are delivered by the servers. The bathrooms are creatively designed from a cargo container, on the way being a quarter so you can dispense some fish food for the local Koi. The food menu isn't extensive but boasts a list of mouthwatering unique entrees that cover all the must haves. It is pricey but the ambience and quality of food are worth it. We will be back, our foodie big city adult children loved the experience as well.

Great setting and kind service. I would say the price point is a bit high for the selection and quality of the menu. Specifically, the fish and pasta tends to be overcooked (this was our third time eating here in the past two years), which is fine if the fish is in the lower price range, but these are fine dining prices ($40+ per entree). The charcuterie board is an awesome choice and would be plenty of food for a party of three to five people at $34. I know price isn't everything. I also recognize that it's a deciding factor for some. :)

Rain forced us to dine indoors in the tasting room rather than al fresco in the courtyard; Not quite the ambiance we are accustomed to at Il Grasso and the food was still spectacular and tasty!
