Wow! Last night we took the ride from Green Bay to Appleton to try something new, German food! This was my first experience trying Schnitzel and it was AAAAAHmazing. I went with the Schnitzel Art Des Hauses which I highly recommend if you love cheese! The portions were fantastic, I ate well beyond being stuffed and still have leftovers for lunch today. The service was prompt, thorough and welcoming. Despite being full we finished with the Apfel Strudel which was warm and tasty. Just what I needed to satisfy my sweet tooth for the night. I will be returning next month to try the Fresh Grilled Salmon, that is of course unless I can't say no to the Schnitzel again. We finished at the bar with the Klosterbock. SO Good. Rough week turned right around after my experience last night. My palate has been fulfilled!

The meat was tender however we didn't get all that the menu said we were to get with our dishes. Missing sauerkraut and red cabbage. I also think a German restaurant should serve rye bread not an italian bread stick. Noticed lots of people came in and drank at the bar but did not eat. Few were eating there on a Friday night. Will not be returning.

Great food and experience. Chris the owner is the best! Took so much time explaining the menu and gave great recommendations. The schnitzel can’t be beat. It’s a must try. Thanks Chris! We will be back!

Modern set up with old fashioned German recipes! For me, the best Maiboch and weizenboch I have ever drunk. The pink gravy forward house schnitzel was a decadent and satisfying plate of delight. The owner/host was a such an inviting and interesting person to talk to. He put the exclamation point on this 5 star review. Full bar.

OK, before coming and a self-proclaimed food snob, I had super high expectations. OB's did not disappoint in the least. Appleton has many places trying to offer food to impress and few can hold a candle to the flame of this wonderful place. The food, service, in-house brewed beer, and atmosphere (ambiance) hit squarely on a solid 10. The food is nothing short of delightful. Please try the super tender pork shanks (schweinshaxe). They are to die for. The schnitzel was absolutely perfect. It was pounded flat, lightly breaded, and cooked to perfection. It, along with the fried potato dumplings made for a delicious meal.If you're in the mood for some great German food in Appleton, WI, OB's Brau Haus should not go overlooked. Give it a shot. You will become a repeat customer.

Dark, uninviting and noisy. We stopped in here for dinner and asked for a table in the dining room. The host offered us a small high top table at the edge of the bar area in front of the dining room which appeared to be empty. The dimly lit room was loud with only a couple of people at the bar. After glancing at the menu we quickly realized that our experience would only go downhill from here given the environment, surrounding noise and mediocre service at best. We left and walked up the street to another restaurant and had a wonderful meal with great service.

It's one of the best crispy pork shanks to be had. The Schnitzel Oscar was fantastic. Great weissbeirs too

Great selection of German inspired food you won't find at many restaurants and brew pubs. The whole "German inspired food + late night dance club" is a little strange, and if you sit in back be prepared to eat in the dark. Our table got various versions of the pork Schnitzel and all were very good. The "tar tar" is more or less mini cannibal sandwiches, but were good either way. If you are into spaetzle, try their "spaetzle with cheese" and you'll mistake it for just good mac and cheese. The service was great. I plan on returning.

Went to dinner tonight and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I had the goulash soup - great flavor! Then the Schnitzel Art Des House and the German Fries which were amazing. Can’t wait to return!

So it took us a while longer to get back to this restaurant than we had hoped, but we weren't disappointed! We tried the curry wurst this time, and it was so delicious. The brats were tender and juicy, and not your typical coarse-ground brats that you cook on the grill. And the curry sauce was still amazing. The Reuben soup, with just a light touch of cream to the broth and plenty of bite from the sauerkraut, was perfect. I had the rahm schnitzel again, and it was as good as the last time. My wife had the meatballs with a cream sauce over spaetzle: a combination of pork and beef that produced a tender and flavorful result. Our server, Michelle, was as friendly and helpful and accommodating as the last time we were there when she was our server as well. We also had a nice chat with the manager/owner, Chris, as he was making his rounds at all of the tables to see that everyone was enjoying their experience at the restaurant. The food here is outstanding and the service is too. We love this place and can't wait to go back again.

OB's Brau Haus Restaurant - - Great German food, great service, and great atmosphere. We went Wednesday night just before 6pm and promptly seated. Our Server Angie had great personality and very attentive. We had the Goulash soup, and the Ruben soup, both tasted great. He had the Jaeger Schnitzel with the Octoberfest beer, I had the pork shank with mushroom sauce on the side, spaetzle and red cabbage, with the house Chardonnay. All so good! Next time I will call 24 hours ahead and request the bread dumplings. We took the Apple Strudel with cream home to enjoy later and it was sooooo good!! When I have the German food craving this will be my spot for it! OB's Brau Haus 523 W College Ave, Appleton, WI OBs-BrauHaus.com
