Since almost the entire staff walked out and quit about a month ago, the place has been a joke. Every week there is a note on the door making excuses why they are not open, furnace problems, training, plumbing, etc. What's next, alien abductions. And folks continue to show up that have made reservations on line only to find locked doors. Get it together or shut the doors for good. It was a great place at one time.

Made a reservation a few days in advance. Go to restaurant and wait 15 minutes after reservation and the door is still locked. No call, no note about being closed. Left and never coming back

Horrible dining experience on Good Friday! Had an 8:15 reservation for 4 people. Never told any specials, drinks were terrible. Waiter was kind but unsure of the availability of fish frys; whether they had any left. We each ordered the fish frys, when brought to the table it was a dinner sized plate with a lemon wedge, two pieces of fish and maybe 12 French fries!! No bread, coleslaw, etc. Had to ask for tartar sauce and ketchup. The food was horrible, what a waste of money. Will never go back!

I have lived in the area and gone to Jake’s for years. I have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Recently my husband and I have recieved calls that informed us that Jake’s was dealing with some issues in the kitchen and would need to close the restaurant. The first time this happened to my husband who made a reservation to take his work team there for dinner. We didn’t question anything and were grateful they informed us. About two weeks later a we made a reservation a week in advance to treat my parents to dinner. We recieved a call the day of our reservation from Jake and he described more issues in the kitchen and said they would be closing the dinning room that evening and for the rest of the weekend. Again we didn’t question it and went elsewhere for dinner. We happen to be driving on Capitol drive on the way home and saw that their parking lot was busy. I called and the women on the other end of the phone confirmed that their dinning room was open. I was disappointed to hear this but figured there was an explanation. I called Jake back the next day and left a voicemail. This was over a week ago now and I have received no return phone call. Again I have been going to Jake’s with my family since I was young and was really disappointed with this situation.

We had reservations and looked forward to my birthday dinner for weeks. Drove an hour to get there only to be greeted with a sign on the door that you were closed due to "staffing issues".

We made a reservation and showed up only to find that the restaurant was closed!! No notice, not even a note on the door. We were lucky to find another open restsurant but very disapponting.

For many years when I'm in the area with friends or business.. Jake's. Always delicious, great quality, service and priced accordingly. The skin is one of the true delicacies of eating duck..Jakes does it perfectly. the sauce on the side. Not destroying the crispness of the skin.

Aftet making a reservation and providing both phone number and email so they could "contact me about my reservation, " when my group got to the restaurant we were greeted by a sign on the door that said "Sorry we're closed." A phone call or text letting us know that would have been nice. There were several other people/ groups in the parking lot that also had the same issue. This is not the kind of treatment I expect from Jake's.

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. The bone-in filet was memorable and will now be my go-to choice as long as it's available. We look forward to our next visit, as always.

We arrived 10 minutes before our 8:00 reservation. Checked in at desk and host told us he was sorry but we probably wouldn't be seated for 30-40 minutes. I had reserved standard table in dining room and he conceded that but he said it was slow that night. He could seat us in the Bar. It was chilly from the front door. I had to wear my coat all during dinner. We were on a raised platform and my chair was close to the edge and even the waitress kept reminding me not to move backwards for fear I'd fall off the platform. Host did buy us the first round of drinks but I was really disappointed that our guests did not experience the rustic dining room with fireplace. Food was outstanding but the ambiance wasn't there. We'll think twice before visiting again.
